How long will Meat be safe after thawing?
Let's say I buy a package of meat that has 5 days left before expiring, and I freeze it immediately. Once I thaw it, will I still have 5 days to cook it?

Once you thaw it the oxygen will start to break down the proteins in the meat . so the longer you keep the the faster it will brown and start to not only look bad but taste bad .Your best bet is to use the meat the day you thaw it or the next day other than that your taking a chance . so be safe and don't risk a food borne illness.

Why thaw it if you don't want to cook it? This is poor food hygiene. Meat should not be kept in the fridge for more than two days if you want to be safe with it. Also always store it on the bottom shelf of the fridge so it doesn't drip on or contaminate other food.

In theory yes... you have to account for the defrost time, but 4 to 5 days is a good estimate.
That's assuming the meat wasn't on the verge of going off... but you had 5 days.

No. you do no longer refreeze meat this is been thoroughly thawed. you may desire to've cooked it once you thawed it the 1st time, after which you will desire to've frozen the cooked meat. yet now you're basically going to could desire to throw it out.
