Briggs & Stratton 7HP Intek Engine Blowing Oil out muffler?
Briggs & Stratton 7HP Intek engine blowing oil from muffler, even with muffler removed. It's a light mist of oil. Intek model 122032. I pulled the spark plug and cranked a few times. No oil came out. I pulled the carb bowl and no oil is in the gas. I smelled the oil coming from the exhaust and there is no gas smell in the oil. I would like to do the repair myself, anyone know where I can get a service manual for this model or what the problem might be? My guess is I need a ring job.

I would guess that the motor (and whatever it is attatched to) was stored in a non level positing allowing the crtank case oil to seep into the cylinder,...........My daughter stored her lawn mower in her outside cellar stair way for the winter and it did the same thing..........I took the plug out and cleaned it,......then with the plug removed I left it sit for a day or two,.....pulling it every once and a while to purge the oil out of the cylinder and it is fine.

Your guess is correct, and to be honest even most shops wont go to the trouble of rebuilding one for the simple reason they wont warranty it. you can buy a new one for $279, or if the loss of 1/2 hp doesn't bother you you can buy a Honda clone from Harbor Freight for around $120, and if you know what your doing you cam bump that up to around 8 hp.
