How much do you tip the dog groomer?

Is it a percentage? Like, 15%? I usually just tack on $8 to a $35 grooming bill (I don't know how I came up with that number). Thank you in advance!

Update:

Hey You! Outta the gene pool!: I paid $20 for grooming once. Then had to spend hours fixing it, and the lady was...well...a biatch.

The place we go also has a doggy daycare (she's allowed to play with the dogs while she waits for the groomer at no extra cost) and the groomer is absolutely awesome. People drive from two hours away to have their dogs groomed by her. It's completely worth it to me to pay the extra to have it done right and have my dog be happy.

Petsmart gave me an estimate of $70 - that was bath and trim ONLY. No nails, no ear plucking, no glands. And they do a pretty crappy job, especially if you want breed specific cuts. (I don't imagine all Petsmarts are so bad.)

Well I would give 10 to 15 percent if they did good, my dog felt comfortable, and they had good customer service. Honestly I have been to several places and my dog was terrified coming out or and one place even almost cut her nail completely off no joke. So Tip I gave none, but if I found some one I trusted and that was reasonable 10 to 15 percent would be good. On 35 dollars that would be about 5.25 for 15 percent and 3.5 for 10 percent. (oh and my dog loves baths, getting brushed, hair driers and people so being terrified was not because she doesn't like groomers it was the groomer My dog loves the vet, and doesn't want to leave them even after her shots)

  • Wow! You pay $35 for grooming? I only pay $15. That includes the bath, pulling hair in the ears, trimming fur, expressing glands if needed (groomers can do that here), and trimming nails.

    I gave her a $3 tip. A little more than 15%.

particular you will desire to tip your groomer, we furnish a provider for you and your dogs. in case you bypass out to dinner get your hair and nails completed you tip them. The valet parking guy you tip them the pizza transport boy you tip them. human beings tip each and every person else yet do no longer seem to think of of the groomer. Grooming is a provider in basic terms like even subject else we gain this as a provider tipping is a manner of asserting "thank you" so a techniques as how plenty this relies upon on in the experience that your dogs is in terrible challenge this makes greater artwork for us so your tip would desire to be a fare volume. the top would desire to be fare to the grooming of your dogs, so in case you have a small dogs this is coming in for a bath and nail trim then a 2- 3 tip may be nice in spite of if in case you have great harry dogs which you already know is going to require some artwork then the top would desire to be a fare value. the only subject this is incorrect is whilst human beings usher in those great harry dogs that require plenty artwork and that they provide a greenback or 2 as a tip this is totally insulting. So think of of this your tip would desire to continually be fare to the challenge of your dogs and the scale of your dogs. And a false impression if the groomer that dose your dogs is the owner of the salon this is nevertheless a superb subject to tip them. We artwork in basic terms as perplexing on your dogs to get them back in shape.

If your paying $35, I would do 15% which is $5.25. So I would just do 5 dollars.
