Depends on the drug in question -- extended exposure to heat may de-nature the chemical so it'd no longer have its intended effect and wouldn't show up in tests.

I had my first filling when I was seven and have seven more since (im now 21). Most dentists will apply a numbing gel to the gums first so you don't feel the needle going in and then you'll will feel slight stinging and pressure. I always close my eyes from the moment I sit in the chair to the moment I get up again 'casue I cant stand to see what is going into my mouth. Remember to relax as best you can and take slow breathes. Good Luck, Be Brave

No, it doesn't "cook all the narcotics out." And yes, it will affect a drug screening.
Eating a poppy seed muffin will show opiates in a drug screening, and those seeds have been subjected to high temperatures during baking.
Narcotics aren't alcohol -- which mostly evaporates at moderate temperatures. They're complex chemicals that heat usually don't affect much.
Peace.
