which is worse, question for all?
this is a question for everyone, really, an opinion.
im an atheist but i have been wondering this for a while.
would it be worse (in "god's" eyes) for someone to be a non-believer or for someone to believe but not follow any of the commandments or requirements of their religion?
to me it seems like believing but only half-assing it would be like a slap in the face to god.
any thoughts?

I know your deeds, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were either one or the other! So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, i am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelations 3:15 See, God wants either your whole heart or nothing at all. if you are warm, or, a foot on each side, He doesnt want you. He would rather you be cold than warm

Just studying those solutions are going to supply me a nightmare taking into account if those musicians shaped a band. Worst Vocalist: Chad Kroeger Worst Drummer: Meg White (Although I do like The White Stripes) Worst Bassist: Nikki Sixx Worst Guitarist: Herman Lee

My mum half believes, my dad says he doesn't believe, but believes in a God and that something is out there.
He comes up with crazy theories of his own such as ladybirds apparently being UFO'S.
I just nod my head and let him get on with it..its best not to question him about those things.
Myself, I don't believe in God at all.
So if "God" does exist, I would go for the second option, like my mum, she believes but follows none of the commandments.

A person who believes but doesn't follow his commandments. Only because the believer is more aware of the commandments. The non-believer ( the blind ) no offense, is unaware and should not be guilty for something he does not know but he is guilty for not believing.I know it says this somewhere in the bible.

The latter because they have full knowledge of God and the requirements and they choose not to follow them. I don't know about you though but i would question that persons faith at all if all they do is claim a religion but refure to do anything..

well at first i was going to say they were equally bad, but then i thought of something i read in the Bible:
Rev, 3:15-16 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
so based on that, i'd say it's worse to be half assed.

Yeah, I see what you're getting at. Like, they "KNEW" God was real, and knew what he commanded of them, and didn't do it. So you're guilty of the sin in a more intentional way than the athiest who simply needed to evidence (as many in the bible did and got.)

Technically according to the Christian Bible, atheists are "fools" but God reserves the worst judgement for the lukewarm church (in Revelations I believe) so clearly God really hates the "half-assers" as you put it. :D

I don't think anyone is "worse" than anyone else. If you don't do what you're supposed to, then you're just not acceptable.
If you do what you're supposed to, then you're acceptable.
A person that's halfway doing what God pleases is just as bad as someone who isn't doing anything.

You are right in what you are getting at. "I would rather you be hot towards me or cold; but because you are lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth."
