Male Masturbation? Christian..?

There is nothing wrong with masturbation, but there is something wrong with Christians who think it is a sin. They are misreading the Bible. They usually point to Genesis 38:6-9. Onan spills his seed upon the ground, he masturbated, but the sin he was punished for was not the masturbation itself, his refusal to place his seed in Tamar, his late brother's widow. So, masturbate all you want, but if you have a brother and he dies before giving his wife a son, step up and do what is required of you.

Hi :) I'm a Christian too. It is so hard not to masturbate, and unfortunately I have to agree with the answerer up there, it is not biblical that we shouldn't masturbate. HOWEVER, what we have to do is look at our motives for masturbation. Which are usually lust, which is a sin. If you can masturbate without lust, then you're amazing! But how often can we do it without the desire of sex or having been stimulated by something sexual or thinking of someone else while you're doing it? That's just to clear that up if the other guy left you in doubt!

As for stopping, prayer and self control and distraction! God won't take away all of your desires, but he can help you with self control to curb those desires. If you're lying in bed and feel the desire, jump out and get into the shower, if you're into exercise, go for a walk or a run. What you also need to be careful with is the tv shows that you watch, if there's lots of sex in it and image, it can stimulate your mind, same with music.

It's a tough road, but hey, it's all for the greater good and to honor our God :) You'll never be perfect and you will slip up, but we should strive every day to be the best that we can be for Him :)

There have been many speculations made by Christians that Masturbation is explicit, wrong even perhaps natural. It only seems unnatural to you because that is what you learned. Masturbation is a very normal healthy process. The only issue that I feel that is relevant to Christian beliefs is if you use nude pictures, porn or other immodest things to relieve your urge to masturbate. Other than that sex is a very natural urge in men that should be relieved when you feel the desire. All too often people tend to get caught up on blind standards and feel suppressed about talking about sex and masturbation as if it is this ungodly act, so please do as you please there is not anything wrong with it.

Well there's the verse "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." -1 Corinthians 6:19-20 " There's no need to do stuff like that, your brain is just so attached to doing that stuff that you THINK you can't stop and need to. Start thinking you CAN stop.

Theres no way to get around your hormones! Short of medically induced hormone blockers, a.k.a. chemical castration, which I don't recommend. I don't think masturbation is exactly "unchristian" though. Those urges are a completely natural thing that everyone has, and besides, you believe it was God who created you, so he's responsible for your those urges, why would he want you to suppress them?

I'm a Christian and I masturbate 3 times a day. I don't know of anything that says Christians can't masturbate.

Masturbation is normal. God made you. He knows the urges of the flesh. He loves you anyway. There is nothing that says you are not Christian if you masturbate.

As a new Christian you probably haven't had much time to study the Bible closely, take a good hard look, masturbation isn't really in there.

• Masturbation will also cause your eyes to acquire a strange, "glassy" look which will be accompanied by uncontrollable drooling all over your face, your shirt and your pants.

• Masturbation will also cause your penis and testicles to shrivel up and retract up inside your body where they will disappear and eventually turn into a vagina.

• Masturbation will cause you never to want "normal" sex again. You'll just sit in front of a computer or a book and masturbate continuously.

• Masturbation causes urinary incontinence. You will not be able to control the flow of your urine, and you'll end up having to wear diapers for the rest of your life.

• If continued, masturbation also causes fecal incontinence. You will not be able to control when you poop.

• Masturbation causes straight people to become gay.

• Likewise, masturbation also causes gay people to become straight.

• Masturbation will cause incurable insanity, and you will end up being raving mad and institutionalized for the rest of your life.

• If you are religious, masturbation will cause you to become an atheist. If you are an atheist, masturbation will cause you to become religious.

• Masturbation causes milk to sour, bread to mold, morning mouth, toenail fungus, ear wax, and excessive nasal mucous.

• If you masturbate, you are up to ten times more susceptible to being struck by lightning because lightning seeks out those who masturbate. You're also up to three times more likely to be struck by a tornado, and crawling up inside the girders of an overpass won't help you because even if you survive half the tornado, the winds on the opposite side of the tornado will scoop you out of the girder and you'll go flying through the air for miles. Tornadoes instinctively know who masturbates and who doesn't — and they leave non-masturbators alone.

• Every time you masturbate, God kills a kitten.

(I'm writing from the Muscatatuck State Hospital in Indiana. I masturbated as a teenager, and this is where I ended up. I don't know how many kittens died as a result of my masturbating.)

The no masturbation rule was a rule made up by humans, not God.... people feel you must sacrifice and suffer to worship...

Why would God give you those urges then? They are natural
