The Military PAST test before MEPS?

Question

Im planning on enlisting in the Air Force and going to do Pararescue. i need to pass the PAST test but my recruiter is trying to get me to go to MEPS before attempting the PAST test so that i can meet the requirements for Pararescue. Do i have to go through MEPS before i can take the PAST?

By the way i have already taken the ASVAB and scored high enough for me to be qualified for Pararescue.

No point in scheduling a PAST for you if you don't meet the ASVAB or physical requirements for Pararescue. (To the young man that said Pararescue Jumper, no such term exists. Pararescueman or PJ is correct.)

You will go to MEPS to take your ASVAB and complete your physical. After that, your recruiter will schedule a PAST test if you meet the requirements. You will take your PAST and only THEN will you sign a GTEP (guaranteed contract) for Pararescue. 

As a note, ensure you get a GTEP, if you don't .. you will not be trying out for Pararescue. We do not take volunteers anymore, only those with guaranteed contracts.

Hey, I'm getting ready to go to MEPS tomorrow in Chicago IL. I  am going in to the Air force to become a Pararescue jumper also.. You will take your asvab first then you will take your PAST test before MEPS. They want see if you can even pass the pre-fitness test before they take you to MEPS and do all the other things, swear in, vision test, depth test and more..

You have to pass the physical and vision requirements at MEPS before you take the PAST test.
