It depends on your contract. You need a lawyer to find out if it voids your contract.

Generally, people can't get fired for things like these; however because of this disloyalty they miss out on promotion opportunities, or become so out of favor that they get fired for something else, however small.

    However...

except you're in Montana, are area of a union or in any different case have an employment settlement your organization can hearth you at any time for any reason (that may not in accordance with gender, race, faith, handicapping concern, and so on.) If an worker posts some thing online that the corporate would not like, the corporate has the fabulous to terminate the worker. I worked at a company wherein an assistant replaced into fired with the aid of fact her facebook website and photos have been genuinely a mag of partying and immature habit over men, and so on. the owner of the corporate purely desperate that her very own habit replaced into sufficient to no longer be keen to believe that she ought to proceed to artwork in a expert ecosystem. reaction to your added information: The remark certainly had some thing to do with the activity. It places the corporate on be conscious which you have a undertaking with yet another worker - and which you're keen to place up that person's call on your facebook website the place all human beings else can study your undertaking with that worker. problems between workers are literally activity-appropriate.

I think you are worrying too much.

If someone tells you they are firing you for your statement, then you may have a case, lol.

You did not name an individual, so I don't see how anyone can get very upset. If Management is only one person and they heard about it, maybe you just made someone upset. If its several people, then they have no idea of who you were speaking of.

Just go on with life like it never happened. You will be fine. I think you learned a life lesson though!

Every person gets frustrated with work now and then, its best if you can handle problems with your HR department privately, or tuff it out while you look for a better Job!!!!!!!!!!

There is precedent for this. More then one person has been fired for talking bad about their boss on Myspace or Facebook. The justification behind it is that you are saying bad things about your boss, ie slander, and that is the real reason why you can get fired.

I don't know if that make sense, but just don't do it. You can be in a lot of trouble.

Actually they shouldnt be looking at your facebook profile anyways there probably not your facebook friends no you cant get fired for it and if you do (wich you wont) you cant sue but you will get your job back your welcome goodbye!

i think the employer will be not be too kind to welcome you once they heard about what you have said on FB...in a way, you have removed it...they don't have any merit for accusing you...but your guilt will hunt you...if i was you, i'll put my tail back and find ways...freedom of speech is free for all but you use it in unhumanitarian way...
