Will the health care bill cause companies to cut jobs?

John Deere and Caterpillar have announced that the health care bill will cost them $150 million for JD and $100 million for Cat,won't this cause job cuts? These are not the only companies who are affected, many other companies have said they will be forced to pay millions more with the health care bill.

Sorry, but forcing companies to pay millions isn't the right way to fund health care.I can't wait to see when taxes will be raised on the middle class.I don't believe the wealthy should be taxed higher either, just because they make good money shouldn't give the government a right to steal it from them to pay other people's health care.

The best way to fund it is with a consumption tax so everyone pays.

Update:

Anna, just because they offer insurance doesn't mean anything. They will still be taxed for the health care.

Anna: You are SO gullible! OF course it won't put them out of business..right away!

It will take some time to whittle them down to nothing...just like this health care bill will take time to completely bankrupt this country.

    Are you so near sighted?

Deere and Caterpillar already offer very good health insurance for all their regular employees. Until the rules are promulgated, we don't know what the impact will be, but it won't put these large companies out of business.

Of course not. You must stop trying to look at the unintended consequences of this wonderful legislation. All that matters is that we're trying to help people. If companies cut jobs, well, then we just have to pass yet another law.

Link! Hopefully not. I believe in the bill. There are big tax breaks for businesses. I hope, they will be hiring. Some of these changes won't take affect until 2014. イ

    Without a doubt.

CAT is actually looking to move to South America, and this was the last straw.
