Question for Shia's about the 12 Imaams?

Asalamu alaikum

Again, as was all my questions directed towards Shia's the last few days, I only ask to learn about your beliefs, NOT mock them.

And I ask My other brothers and sisters who do not follow the Shia beliefs, to kanala, not to mock if you decide to give an answer to the question. Shukran Jazeelan.

I have heard, that Shia's ask the Imaams for stuff; e.g. forgiveness or help or something like that.

Is this true?

Do Shia's ask the Imaams, whether it be all or only a few Imaams, for things?

When Shia's make dua, do Shia's ask the Imaam's for whatever they are asking in their dua's?

Update:

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, (2)

The Beneficent, the Merciful. (3)

Owner of the Day of Judgment, (4)

Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. (5)

Show us the straight path, (6)

The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. (7)

Update 2:

Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. (5)

Because Imams are infallible and more closer to Allah than we are. Therefore we make dua thru them so as to reach to Allah. Its is like a shorter and easier road to reach to the destination.

  • This is tawassul (intercession) where we are not asking the Imams (as) directly. We are ultimately asking Allah SWT for everything and are making Duaa all to Him but because the Pure Ahlul Bait (as) are the most loved and closest to Allah SWT, we are asking Allah SWT to answer our prayers on their behalf and for their (as) sake. We do not believe that Imams will answer our prayers nor are we asking THEM, we continue to ask everything from Allah SWT.

it is tawassul (intercession) the place we at the instant are not asking the Imams (as) at present. we are finally asking Allah SWT for each little thing and are making Duaa all to Him yet with the aid of fact the organic Ahlul Bait (as) are the main enjoyed and closest to Allah SWT, we are asking Allah SWT to respond to our prayers on their behalf and for their (as) sake. we don't think that Imams will answer our prayers nor are we asking THEM, we proceed to ask each little thing from Allah SWT.

  • yes, we Shias ask the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HF) and Lady Fatima (as) and the Holy Imams (as) to do our intercession (Shefaat) to Allah SWT..........

Allah SWT says in the Holy Quran...........

And We did not send any messenger but that he should be obeyed by Allah's permission; and had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had (also) asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.

    4:64

so Allah SWT would had forgiven the sinners if they had gone to the Prophet (PBUH&HF) and asked HIM to ask Allah SWT to forgive them........

Allah SWT in the Holy Quran says:

O you who believe! be careful of (your duty to) Allah and seek means of nearness to Him and strive hard in His way that you may be successful.

    5:35

or when we see that the brothers of Prophet Yusuf (PBUH) go to their father and say "Ya Abana Istighfarlana", their father doesn't say "eeiaka Na'bood Wa Ikiana Nastain", He (PBUH) says that He will ask for forgiveness for them........

so how is that different by saying "Ya RasulAllah, Istighfarlana"?

but unfortunetly some people have mentioned that calling the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HF) after his death is Shirk..........

but do they ever think why they (base on their own idea) commit shirk 5 times a day everyday by saying "Assalamu Alaik Ya Ayyuha al-Nabi..."

    Source(s): truth speaks for itself...............
