What is the difference between Church of Christ and Penecostal?

I think its Pentecostal where they speak in tongue. Anyway I am interested in a man who is that religion and its very important to him. I use to go to Church of Christ so that's all I know. How do these two differ and could two people from both religions see it the same? Or would this become a problem down the line.

There are some similarities between Church of Christ and Oneness Pentecostals. Both believe that Acts 2:38 sums up a Biblical conversion experience; however, Church of Christ does not follow all the way through with the implications of that.

The Biblical conversion experience is summed up in Acts 2:38: "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Somewhere along the way, it was "replaced" by the modern innovation known as "the sinner's prayer." Many look to the epistles in an attempt to find the New Testament plan of salvation; however, the epistles were written to first century Christians who were already saved. The place to look for the historical salvation experience is in the book of Acts, for it is there that actual conversion experiences are documented and what actually took place. The biblical salvation experience recorded in the book of Acts includes receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost accompanied by speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou HEAREST THE SOUND THEREOF, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is EVERY ONE that is born of the Spirit" (John 3:8).

Pentecostals believe the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues, etc.) continue.

The Church of Christ believes such miracles have ceased. (1 Corinthians 13:8)

Pentecostals have a much more emotionally driven worship. They confuse this emotionalism with the moving of the Spirit.

Church of Christ has a much more orderly, respectful worship; worshiping in ways they see instructed and authorized by the New Testament.

    Okay

Penecostals Speak in tougues, Cast out demons, do Praise & workship, Believe in the Father, Son, & the holy spirit.

But the Church of God in Christ believe in the Father, Son, & the Holy Ghost just like the Penecostals do, but they DONT believe in allot of hardcore praise in worpship & the whole casting out part.

Its not a HUGE difference here. Penecostals just go deeper than Church of God in christ thats all. I should know. I been penecostal for years now. Every since I was little, I been to both churches so I know :)

Pentecostals do speak in tongues, but there are numerous types, so it wouldn't be possible to make much of a contrast with C of C. Why not ask the man to tell you about his faith?

Edit for William: Pentecostals are in most cities. And some are pro-gay. Check out http://www.affirmingapostolic.com/

maximum Trinitarians have self assurance the Church of Christ is a pretend faith. they do no longer accept as true with their coaching approximately salvation. The CoC have self assurance they are the only actual Christian church and all of us will else will pass to hell.

The Pentecostals are slightly more religiously insane than Church of Christ.

Jesus set up his church at Pentecost - all receive all!

Jesus will return for that bride, all others are spiritual whores who change things to please men.

Some groups calling themselves "Pentecostal" are in this category so you will need to wise up.

C of C is a reasonable Protestant cult--here they march with us in Gay Pride. They perform most of the in-church same sex marriages. Pentacostals don't exist here in the city. I'd have to go way out of town to the boonies and trailer parks to find them.
