When you refuse a friend request on facebook, does that person see that?
Can they tell that you denied them?

Well, technically yes. If they go back to your profile, the icon of "Awaiting friend confirmation" is changed back to "Add as friend." This shows that you rejected them.
However, they will get NO direct notification. Hope I helped.

If they have been accepted as a Facebook friend, they will know. If you refuse the request, the person will just see that their request is *pending*... and it has to be verified. If the person tries to send you another request while the pending one is still up, Facebook won't let it. Not all requests get accepted instantly. Some take time. But if it's a very long time, several days or a few weeks, then the chances are pretty good that the request has not been accepted. They'll just have to deal with it, and move on. If they get annoying about it, you can block them. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you accept a friend request from someone you don't know... or who has no friends in common with you. Stay safe.
