Nascar: If the race gets rained out Sunday, will that help or hurt anyone?

Will all the good cars in practice and everyone else be back to square one or will the track be pretty much the same?

Thank god for the DVR, I can also follow it on my Sprint phone as well on Monday if it gets rained out. I'm thinking positive here and I hope the weatherman is totally wrong about the weather and they get the race in. I'm just hoping for Jr to have a great race, and if he is leading at half way and it rains, thats fine with me.

Go Dale Jr..Bring it on in 2010

It pretty much changes things for everyone, especially if it rains hard. The rubber all gets washed off the track and the surface is clean. This can affect the setup of the cars and they cannot be touched without being penalized by going to the back of the starting lineup.

I don't really know who specifically it would hurt or help, but I'd guess that it would hurt the majority of the drivers. It won't hurt them that much though. I think guys like Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, Denny Hamlin, and Mark Martin will still be good if the race is on Monday.

It will hurt us fans that have to work on Monday. As far as the drivers, it will be the same after the first 100 laps and the track rubbers in.

just tosses out what your car as done up till now .. i hate when qualifying is rained out .. i hate when races line up by points.. rather see them lined up by the draw they did to see the order they would have went out in qualifying.. then they would have mixed up the field and not had all the points leaders at the front of the field .. like to see them work there why to the front and not got a advantage of starting position and pit selection because of rain. this happened like 9 times last year and gives a advantage to the points leaders.. a draw is all about luck every race..

I think it could. But we'll never know unless they race both days!

And that has happened before. I remember the '08 California race, started at the regular time, but the weepers made them finish the race the next morning.
