Give an example of something bad that is caused by Global Warming?
Prove it was caused by global warming. Be specific.
Proof is not just assuming something will happen.
Adrian, wheres the proof? Affecting?

An example, how about a list of examples
http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/
There is no doubt of the volumes of Co2 humans are emitting or that Co2 is a GH gas, the observed effects of rising temperature, rising sea level, warming oceans, shrinking ice sheets, ocean acidification and the declining Arctic sea ice is more than enough to convince the worlds scientists that it is happening and is mainly caused by human actions.
nightwing can make silly claims about NOAA and volcanoes or extremely silly claims like "no warming since 1995" the maths of which escape me as 2009 was the 5th warmest year on record there are in fact just 2 years from the 1990 in the top ten (1998 & 1997) the years (1995,1996 and 1999) don't even make the list.
http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/?report=global&year=...
With 2007,2006,2009 well up this list and 2005 in first place and 1997 sure to fall from the list this year talk of 15 or 12 years of cooling is utterly ridiculous.
Deniers try to make this claim because of 1998 which is only in the position it is because of the strongest El Nino in a century, that this occurred across the years 97-98 and that these are the only years from the 90s in the top ten is not a coincidence.

Naming it "global warming" is what I would call bad science. The phenomenon that scientists are really talking about is global climate change, which involves not only heating, but also cooling, changes in precipitation, etc. While, on average, the Earth is increasing in temperature, it is what is happening because of and in addition to that we should be most worried about. But to counter your argument, ski resorts have in fact had to use snow machines more often in some places, while in others there may be more snow then usual. Hence "climate CHANGE".

Read all of it. They are specific and recognize that some erosion is natural, but cannot deny that the climate has changed, therefore speeding up mother nature. How the permafrost layer has been affected is not related to erosion, rather a changing (warming) climate .

Hello?
I keep reading about the alleged "acceleration" in the rise of sea levels as an example of global warming caused by man. Can someone please show me the evidence for this **over a significant length of time** I mean, we all accept that there are multi-decadal changes in sea levels caused by various factors don't we?
So where's the proof on a timeline of thirty years or more (which I'm told is long enough to be statistically relevant and significant) to show an **acceleration** in sea level rise?
I'll wait.

The acceleration in sea level rise is, pretty much beyond doubt, associated with global warming:" (other poster)
As the ice cap over the North Polar region has grown back almost to 1979 levels, has sea rise (which I never believed in the first place) stopped, or is this "the wrong kind of ice"? (UK readers will understand)

First off, 'proof' is logic/maths, not science. Science can only assign levels of confidence to events.
The acceleration in sea level rise is, pretty much beyond doubt, associated with global warming:

Since they've managed to 'close' the sea level budget to 2003, and the cause is a mix of melting ice and thermal expansion. The heat being gained by oceans (Domingues et al, 2008) is slightly under the heat being trapped by the increase in greenhouse gases, as measured by satellite (Harries et al, 2001).
Glacial loss has similarly been linked (and that will eventually be a bad thing), as well as frequency of heatwaves.
Nothing else has been observed beyond doubt yet afaik. Palaeoclimate estimates suggest we're in for 1m+ of sea level rise by 2100 (see Vermeer & Rahmstorf), and that food production will decline after 2C warming (IPCC, 2007). Frequency of heat waves and heat related deaths will increase, glaciers will continue to melt and there is the risk of a Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum event with the release of trapped methane caused by warming.

The fact is, any moron can point as something , somewhere and claim that the higher temperatures caused a problem. The problem is, no matter what they point at, there's no proof that its due to "global warming".
After all, most reputable scientists have either been discredited on previous positions, flat out lied, or at least recanted thier positions.
Nasa was wrong, the IPCC was wrong, East Anglia was manipulating data, Al Gore is full of crap, made a hack movie that even liberals in the UK demand a disclaimer on before watching.
And now the NOAA is the "gold standard" but they claim it isn't CO2 that is the problem...siting it as "miniscule"......but its the water vapor in the stratosphere, but even they admit they have no clue why the amount of water changes year to year.
So, something bad......Assuming that AGW were even a real problem or even happening.....because we know there hasn't been any warming since 1995. That's 14 years ago and people are still whining about AGW...go figure.
The only thing i've seen in regards to warming trends causing problems would be hot nations near the equator getting hotter, meaning more heat stroke deaths in that country. That there again, that's a theoretical bad thing since, like I said, there hasn't been any warming in 14 years
The polar bears dying, that was a lie used by the WWF to get contributions for an ad compaign.
The warming of areas is no big deal, most of it is weather and local, but more people die each year due to freezing than over heating.
There's always a general complaint about threatened species but no one can point to one species on the brink of destruction due to AGW specifically. And extinction itself isn't proof of anything. Some species just don't survive by themselves.
Then you have the ice caps are melting people. Most of them ignoring the fact that underwater volcanoes exist and some are active as we recently found in the news in regards to Iceland.
We see retreating glaciers in some pictures, but do these people ever go back the following years to show people how they have returned ? no.
All propaganda to support the fear mongering that the sky is falling.
The only real data i've seen at all is a few parts per million of carbon in the air, to which there have been no detrimental effects, no deaths, no disease, nothing to show for it but panic...driven by a willing media and politicians that think they can cash in on it and get thier hands on more money.

Al Gore. "Global Warming" (heh-heh)..... has resulted in mankind having to put up with his lunatic ravings.

Al Gore!

If it is global warmign due to CO2, rising ocean acidification. Also sea level rise, extinction of certain species such as corals...
