Why are pictures of angels always blond?

No, seriously. Or like, when you look in kids picture books Adam and Eve are always white. If God made Adam out of earth wouldn't he be black? Or Native American? Idk, but i refuse to believe that God made white people first or that white people are the favored race in the kingdom of heaven. Wouldn't angels come in different races? Why do people think they should be white, because white looks pure? The colored races aren't beautiful and pure in the eyes of God? Someone please justify to me where Christianity gets off with being so racist.

Update:

hey i also thought i should mention, i'm not actually black myself, I made my avatar dark-skinned because i'm just the kind of person who would do that.

Most of the characters in the paintings and other art, which your probably familiar with, are white because the artists who painted them lived in a white dominated cultures. Other races where considered beneath the Caucasian individuals which made up most of Europe at the time.

Why did Moses hair turn white when he stood before the burning bush?

Don't interject racism here. The glory of God will turn your hair blond or white to, "IF you make it to heaven, get rid of the race card witchcraft stuff, its called manipulation and is a lying witness

When I was a little girl growing up with a Sunday school teacher mother, I learned two things: (1) white represents good and pure; black represents bad and impure. (2) Jesus loves all the little children of the world, "Red or yellow, black or white, they are precious in his sight."

That was just the first in a long, long line of contradictions I learned. Eventually, I gave up trying to make sense of it and [long story shortened considerably] became an atheist.

The culture that writes the books decides the race, that simple. If you want black angels, make your own book, it's not like if they really do exist they couldn't be whatever color you're most comfortable with anyways.

You brought up an interesting question here. The heavens doesn't care about skin color or eye or hair cover. Bear in mind these are images that the painter paints.

When I was in Egypt they painted them with dark skin.

In my opinion I believe that angels come in all colors.

Actually there's no mention about the colour of angels in the bible. its all part of man's imagination. i think the US have more creativity so they made the angels blonde.
