  • Is it normal to talk to your opposite-sex sibling about your love life as adults?

I'm 24 and my only brother is 27. We were really close as teenagers because we were homeschooled by our religious parents and we didn't have any other siblings. He moved out last year and we just haven't been bothering to make time to call each other and I miss him. I recently realized that I'm a lesbian and I've been dating some girls and I just wanna tell him what's going on with me. I think he's gonna be accepting and I feel like he's the only person who's gonna understand the damage our mother did to my developing sense of self-love. I think we're closer than most brothers and sisters, but we also might be less close because topics like sexuality were just not discussed in our household so we missed out on having a healthy development on some things. Obviously, it's between him and me whatever topics we're comfortable with, but I was wondering how much normal siblings talk about this. Like not that anybody's "normal" per se, but I think my family definitely falls at one end of the bell-shaped curve.

  • Why do lonely, needy people repeatedly fall for independent, emotionally unavailable people?

Just had to break it off with a woman I'd been seeing. She says everybody leaves her. She asked "What did I do wrong?" She didn't do anything wrong. Why would she even ask that except to make herself feel bad? I want her to move on. She's really looking for somebody to complete her and I'm like I just wanna mess around. This isn't the first time this has happened and every time I don't know how to end it without making the other person feel inadequate. I'm just not looking for commitment. I thought I was honest about that from the start, but she was the one who was really pursuing me. Why she keep going after people who can't give her what she needs? Why do I keep attracting earnest and devoted lovers when I can't return their feelings? It seems like this is something you hear about a lot. Does anybody have any insight?

  • How to drive away a guy?

Today I ran into this guy I friendzoned a few months ago and now he's texting me again. He's not harassing me or anything. He's interesting and nice but I just don't like him back and I don't want to deal with his feelings. I think he likes me because he kinda sees me as an innocent ray of sunshine in this dark world and he's in a place right now where needs somebody to believe in him. I am a kind person though and I do believe in him and I don't wanna just start being mean and rude to him. I wish there was something else I could do to make him lose interest on his own so it doesn't have to come to a confrontation where I'd have to reject him and we'd both end up feeling bad.

  • Best brand of lipstick?

I am buying black lipstick for my best friend's Christmas present. (She's wanted to go goth for years.) I want to get her some really nice stuff, 'cause you know if a product is messy or troublesome you don't want to use it as much. She said that the stuff she already had came off too easily. Are there any lipstick connoisseurs around who could advise me on this decision?

  • How do I find the creator of an image on the internet?

I'm trying to find the original creator of this image:

    http://tinyurl.com/qd9k6jv

I figured out how to use google to search for that image. It turned up hundreds of results, which I began to go through, but all of them seem to be people using the image without any kind of citation. Somebody spend hours making that and they deserve credit. This shouldn't be that hard.

  • Waterproof Cellphone?

Earlier today I dropped my cellphone in our pond. So I thought, instead of buying another second-hand phone on ebay, why don't I take this opportunity to buy myself a really durable one that's going to last me more than a year. I'm kinda lazy and I don't enjoy researching. Are there any cellphone geeks out there who could recommend a phone with the following features:

    - Waterproof

    - Shockproof

    - Has a little QWERTY keyboard

    - Less than $100

    - Comes in different colors

    - Compatible with verizon

I don't want a smartphone or an android, and I hate touchscreens. The one at the bottom of the pond was a verizon LG EVN3. It looked like this: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&authuser=0&sit... I just want one kinda like that but more suitable for adventure.

  • Does playing the trumpet hurt one's inner ears?

I've never played a brass instrument before but I'm interested in learning the trumpet. Only problem is my inner ears are very sensitive to pressure. They pop constantly and sometimes painfully. If I have a cold and I'm blowing my nose all day it's enough to give me an earache and I can just forget diving entirely. Does playing a trumpet create pressure in the sinuses? Does anybody else have this problem?

  • Is Fifty Shades of Grey still a better love story than Twilight?

Both of these books have grown from a normal fandom to a full-blown cultural phenomenon, and, as is fitting, both are surrounded by controversy. What do you think? Which one is taking a bigger dump on American literature?

  • Help me pick a topic for my research paper?

I'm a freshmen in college and for my final in one class I have to write a research paper. I can pick any topic in history that fits under the theme War and Peace. The teacher is real big about picking something that really interests us. Problem is I never liked history and I'm drawing a huge blank. I'm thinking it would be neat to do it over some kind of cultural revolution or peace movement. Just, y'know, something interesting, preferably within the last 20 years. Anybody got any ideas?

  • I want to listen to good music. Help?

I had a sheltered childhood and I have a lot of catching up to do. People seem to judge other people based on their taste in music and I don't want all my new friends to think I'm a tool. Will you help me to not be a tool? Please list name, genre and what makes their music so great for bands that deserve to be listened to.

  • Tips for all natural hair dyes?

I am a natural blond, but I've been dying my hair with conventional dyes for a while. My hair is thin and fragile naturally and I think the dyes are making it worse. I always wanted long hair, but it won't grow past my shoulders. Also it won't hold color. I have been reading up on natural dyes that strengthen hair: henna for red, coffee for brown.

Does anyone who's tried these have any tips? Know of any other good ones? How permanent are they? Before and after pics?

    Thanks

  • Why are pictures of angels always blond?

No, seriously. Or like, when you look in kids picture books Adam and Eve are always white. If God made Adam out of earth wouldn't he be black? Or Native American? Idk, but i refuse to believe that God made white people first or that white people are the favored race in the kingdom of heaven. Wouldn't angels come in different races? Why do people think they should be white, because white looks pure? The colored races aren't beautiful and pure in the eyes of God? Someone please justify to me where Christianity gets off with being so racist.
