Is this nightclub outfit visually appealing? (picture)?

I'm trying to forge a style, and I have no clue how badly I'm doing. I've gone out inadvertently looking like edward scissorhands, and punky brewster is my icon, yet my friends don't even comment one way or the other. I really don't care about how socially aberrant this outfit looks, or any of that. I'm more just interested to know if you think it's visually appealing or not, based upon color contrast/clash and visual space. If you think it's ghastly, do say why. In particular, any accesories need to go? I already know the neck scarf should be a colorful one...

Again, I know it's pathetic to ask here, but just a year ago, the extent of my fashion interest was whatever baggy jeans I could find on the floor.

Update:

The shoes are from Etsy and are 1980's-vintage Converse knockoffs. Good luck finding another pair - they're rare.

Update 2:

I should have mentioned: it's a gothic nightclub...

Many on here will write of how bad this outfit is, but this is only because of their lack of experience in nightclub fashion. Having studied nightclub fashion at my local university I can tell you the good and bad parts of your outfit:

The good - Your use of 90% black and 10% pink/orange/green brings out a powerful visual element to your otherwise middle-of-the-road outfit. Additionally, your clash of scarf vs. skirt really makes any fellow nightclub goer think second about the meaning of your ensemble.

The bad - Not too much here. The only real problem with your outfit is your sunglasses. This is a pretty common mistake. Often, before going out to a nightclub individuals think that sunglasses give you that little "edge" in fashion. Unfortunately, this is not the case. According to recent studies, sunglasses are actually out of style. Because of this, you should say no to the glasses and keep the rest. Furthermore, sunglasses are a little trashy and you wouldn't want to screw up your near perfect nightclub outfit.

I personally don't find it to be visually appealing, but that's just me. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would like it. I didn't find it appealing mainly because you looked stiff in the outfit, try wearing something like skinny jeans and a tee shirt, I think that would look nice on you, The colour black is very prominent, so maybe you could try dark blue skinny jeans with a black or grey tee shirt. You looked a little bit covered up like you were being smothered that's all. But if you are comfortable then good on you. Try not to wear too many things, for instance just the main articles, in the outfit I mentioned, only wear the jeans tee and shoes, you could put on a necklace or bracelet but don't go over the top, keep it simple. Good luck.

No. Lose the scarf, the hat, the sash around your waist, the tourniquet on your leg, the rainbow wrestling boots, and the skirt. I'm not sure what's happening around your shoulders, but it looks kind of awkward. The shoes themselves aren't even that bad if you were to wear them with just the pants and the tshirt...and maybe a big, heavy belt a'la Tim Armstrong, but if you're going to try and dress 'punk' (or whatever that is) I think classic 70's is better than raver candy. Oh, and the fishnets on your arms and the studded collar are a little S&M for my tastes, lol.

Less is more! Your problem is that you're mixing a lot of different 'genres' there. And I understand that personal style is personal and doesn't need to conform to anthing, blah blah blah. But the boots are totally raver, the pants and skirt and punk, the collar, shirt and fishnets are kind of goth, the sunglasses and hat are weird, and then there's a knit scarf? You kind of look like you;re playing dress up. Pick one genre per outfit, and stick with it.

    lawlz.

I think you've got too much going on. Keep it more simple, so all the focus can be on something awesome, like those shoes. The shoes are cool.

    that depends on nightclub event,

i would go with simpler colors and delete simple details like scarfs.

try black pants and a simple tshirt or shirt.

    dont choose a neon color.
