I am renting a home which is in foreclosure....?

The landlord abandoned the property 6 months ago. I know the foreclosure date, which was not their first, this time they were delinquent with the trustee as well. I would like to find out how I can purchase this home from the bank without dealing with the landlord...not a nice person. Where do I begin. How do I find out if there is a sale date for the foreclosure yet etc. HELP !

PS this is in NYS

You will be informed, as they will contact you to at least make rental arrangements.

You can not buy directly from them, you have to wait until they own it and have an agent ready to put it on the market.

If you have the cash you can bid at the auction, you will hear about that too, it happens at noon, the minute the owner no longer owns.

You can bid on it at the courthouse steps when the trustee offers it. That will be expensive since probably more is owed on it than it is worth - otherwise the landlord would have sold it instead of allowing it to go to foreclosure.

Wait until the bank owns it (they 'bid' what is owed on it). They will list it with a Realtor for what it's worth. You can buy it then for a little less. Get your own buyer's agent - a Realtor who will represent YOU, not the bank. Do not call the company that is hired to sell it.

You could go to the county assessors office to see who is attorney handling this case and talk with them directly.

The sale will take place on the proeprty and you can bid on it.
