is the good specs for an animation/ rendering computer?

If you really want to go all out and get a really good computer for rendering, I would change up quite a few things.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 Processor 945

Motherboard: Anything that supports DDR3

Memory: 6GB DDR3 Ram

Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB

Hard Drive:Intel 40 GB SSD Internal hard drive (Windows and Speed Needed Programs)

Current Hard Drive: Slave Hard Drive setup to run the rest of your other programs

Optical: Fine as is, update Nero to something better if desired

Network Card: Same unless you want to go Wireless N

Sound Card: Fine as is, if you want to upgrade, i recommend Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio

Power Supply: COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-500 500W ATX12V V2.3

Ports: Get a firewire card

It's a good computer, pretty close to mine. It's not ideal for rendering because you probably want a quad core processor for faster times, but it's definitely doable. I render on almost the same exact processor and it runs fine, i just have to render over night on vue usually
