My Dryer is not working right, can someone help?

My dryer is not drying the clothes. I thought it was a clog exhaust vent, so I had it clean. After hooking it back up, it still dose not dry the clothes. I try pulling it out and disconnecting the exhaust hose, and letting the hot air vent out in the room, and it works normal. Any Ideas, what's wrong?

As already said check it right at the outlet for blockages sometimes the flap gets stuck and will not open, so check that.

If your vent is long (more than 10 feet) and it is flexible vent you are better off replacing the vent rather than cleaning it, typically it will fill with water and due to condensation. If you have hard vent cleaning it will be fine.

You should clean or replace your vent once a year.

Sounds like to still have a clog. With the dryer running go to the outside vent and see how much air is coming out. There should be enough to open the the vent flat over half way.

I would guess without looking at it that the heating coil has burnt out. this is not a hard fix for the DIY'ers but if you are not to mechanically inclined you may want to get a service guy out. All you have to do is take the back off of the dryer and locate the heating element. You can then turn on the dryer and if the coils dont get red hot then you need to replace it. Good luck

still have a clog. Lint builds up in the exhaust hose and excessive amounts of fabric softener will do it as well. You should also check the vent on the outside of the house. the hose could also be getting squished.

Sounds to me as though the duct may be clear but there is a blockage at the discharge area. Check this out.
