How do you interpret this poem?

I'd like your thoughts of the following poem. I'm wondering what other people's interpretations are? What's the author's motive for writing it? Who is it written to? What's their relationship? Is there hope for the two of them? Is this an apology from the author? What about the perspective change in the last stanza? General thoughts; I'm not looking for some scholarly review lol. I'm just interested to see what everyone else makes of it.

It's called "Last Try"

I miss being your friend. Thoughts like this scatter me every once in a while when I can't refuse thinking.

Caught a few hours before awake and a morning drive. The trance music sleeps, its climax holds the peace.

Four hours from now I will enter noise. The objects of an institution will make me forget how beautiful the night can sound. But we can disregard that for now.

Because the minutes of relaxation are upon us. Don't waste seconds predicting your anxiety. These idle moments will be your tide in the black straits of restlessness. The persecution will echo.

Like imagination gripped us during discussions of my most personal works, I am reminded of the unconditional advice you used to amuse me with after I rejected personality and safe connections for the useless sake of upholding something that we all knew was never there. It feels like something was lost because your energy and life rewarded you with happiness and a legitimate chance to have partnership.

And so I'm a little blind, even though I will continue to roll and roll and roll and roll until the dice are caught for the last time, after my morning drive and sun clouds and visions of awake appear in a time we both can argue is unrestricted.

If this was an apology.

There are things entrusted far more sacred.

If this was a letter.

Art would melt away.

The pencil broke everytime the narrator tried to sketch this frame. So he typed, and perhaps the metal belly of the spellcheck corrupted what he attempted to illustrate. But lessons always being learned, even after you've been exploited and stepped over for the last time, the next one won't recluse.

Last try.

I am not an expert on this, but from my perspective, I believe the poet is refering to the evening itself or sleep during the nighttime. Yes, I can almost feel it somehow. The author is definatly refering to something here as he is saying that night or sleep is his missed friend. The poet is somehow I think questioning and admiring why sleep or nighttime is so beautiful, maybe also dreams in addition. From what I could understand is that since dream, night, or sleep is his friend which he misses now, he bares to stand the awaking world and since trance music has a beautiful sound to its genre, as I am a fan of the music myself. Thus he relates that to one of them as it helps him disregard things around him, in other words, gives him relaxation, peace, and no worries. Wait, I believe he could talking about his dream sleep during the night as he is dreaming, oh yes I think I got it now = D, about his personal work which he is making and he senses at the same time thst he is missing something, but doesn't know what. Thus this why he mentions the dices being caught for the last time because he is sure to get a good answer during his dreaming night, which therefore give a last time to his work after argueing with himself of his dreams of what he is missing and maybe why. For the apology, I think he means that if his meaning was sorry to show him whats been occurring, he will still be puzzled of what to solve, what to answer. And if he was told by letter, then his art or reason will longer be solid ice, the freezing to his question + answer. Which bring us to the last stanza, in which the answer to all of this is just try one last time no matter what. In other words, keep trying, don't loose motivation.

Deep breathing, well with that said, I think I got naled down somehow but again I can be wrong on all of this as the poet knows the true answer, but I enjoyed it.

As for the author's motive, his motive would might be that he wants to finish on something, but can't seem to for some reason, but disregard it. I can't be sure.

Strange, this somehow relates to where I am right now on my personal work, differently though that is, oh well. But again, I enjoyed interpering this even though I am not a poem expert. Hope my answer gives a better idea of what this poem is really about.
