can anyone provide me with any answers as to what you may think is happening to me?
First I need to say my period is very normal, 28 days 5 days bleeding like clockwork. Well a day before my period was to start, I rubbed some progesterone cream on my belly that my cousin had , she told me that it kept your hormones in balance. Well for some odd reason after that my period was delayed 2 days and now I have been bleeding HEAVY for 9 days with huge clots and soaking through super plus tampons every 15 minutes for the past 9 days!!!! I went to the er yesterday and had a gyn exam with a cbc and everything came back normal and the dr didnt think anything was abnormal, but told me to follow up with my gyn on mon. I dont know if this was because of the progesterone cream or something else, but I'm so aggravated that I'm on the verge of buying this crap just to see if this will stop whats going on with me right now. I am so desperate and frightened. Could this one time use of this cream have caused this and what do I do now??? 10 pts to best answer. Thank you so much

Progesterone is a hormone that retains the uterine lining... i.e. when you have a period it is because your progesterone levels have fallen beyond a certain point. So it may well have been the cream that delayed the period by a couple of days, since progesterone basically keeps the uterine lining inside your body. The extra two days will have meant the lining of your uterus has thickened more, so there's more tissue to get out and thicker endometrium, causing more tearing of blood vessels and thus more bleeding. Don't use the cream again and see if your period is normal next month. I'd imagine it will be. And if you're passing big clots, using tampons is a bad idea, use an overnight pad instead and keep yourself well hydrated. Heavy periods are horrible, but they do happen to everyone once in a while, and it will stop.

Now, if you used to get a cycle like clockwork, why on earth did use some cream to keep your hormones in balance? They were ALREADY in balance! I'm not sure if the cream was at fault, or it's just a fluke in the cycle. It's better for you to go to the doctor and ask.
