How many World Series winners won their home opener?

Is there a statistical relevance between the two? If 90% of World Series winners also won their home opener, that would mean something. If it's between 40% and 60%, I would say the statistic means nothing. Anyone know what the relationship is?

I think it's irrelevant. Even the World Series winner will most likely lose at least 60 of their games. Opening Day is pretty much just another game. What does it matter if they lose? A good team that has a shot to win the World Series could easily lose the first game and win the next 5.

It really means nothing when you see the flag go up the pole that day, that alone is worth the admission, the hell with the score.
