How do I connect a device to my wireless network when that device does not have a wireless card?
I have a DVR that can be hooked up to my home network if I had a network cable. However, running a network cable from the router to the device is not an option. Is there a way to link the DVR to the network by wireless? It does not have a built in wireless card. There is a RJ-45 connection and a USB connection available on the back of the DVR.
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoHow many World Series winners won their home opener?
Is there a statistical relevance between the two? If 90% of World Series winners also won their home opener, that would mean something. If it's between 40% and 60%, I would say the statistic means nothing. Anyone know what the relationship is?
4 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoBack country, Cat, and Heli Skiing newbie. Suggestions?
I am an experienced resort skier, but I am looking for something different. I'm looking for good fresh virgin snow. I don't have a whole lot of experience in deep powder since usually the only place to find that at a ski resort is in the trees. I'm not really into skiing the trees. So I am looking for that next step. For example, on our last trip to Breckenridge, we drove over Loveland pass in stead of taking the tunnel. There were a bunch of guys skiing the pass and then hitching a ride back to the top. This looked fun! However, I'm looking for something a little more structured. Possibly with guides or instructors. We are NOT looking for extreme skiing! Just some wide open ungroomed snow. What would you suggest?
I am also a little lazy. Not really into hiking.
3 AnswersSnow Skiing1 decade agoIs there a system for ranking the difficulty of ski runs?
Is there definitive criteria that a piste or ski run must meet to be considered a green, blue, or black run? For example my wife and I normally ski Breckenridge. She is confident skiing the blue runs and is beginning to tackle what Breckenridge calls blue/black runs. For a change of pace, we went to Keystone for the day. Keystone's blue runs were much steeper and more difficult than Breckenridge's blue/black runs. She quickly became overwhelmed and we cut our skiing day short. Before this, it was my understanding that a "blue" was a blue (give or take a little bit) no mater which resort you went to.

Is it just a total of accumulated snow fall? Is it packed snow or unpacked snow? Where is the measurement made?
1 AnswerSnow Skiing1 decade agoHas anyone heard of Fera ski apparel?
Their "Bourne" ski pants received a good review in About.com's review of Top Men's Ski Pants. (http://skiing.about.com/od/skigear/tp/skipants.htm... However, I have never heard of Fera. Any help?
1 AnswerSnow Skiing1 decade agoWhere to stay in Breckenridge CO?
For the past several ski seasons we have stayed in some nice but inexpensive condos near the east side of Peak 9. We would like to try some other areas of the resort. Where do you stay and where would you recommend?
1 AnswerSnow Skiing1 decade agoHow do I move my number from Verizon to AT&T?
My wife wants the new 3GS iPhone but wants to keep her number. She is eligible for a phone upgrade with Verizon so she should be close to finishing her two year commitment. If not, can we buy out the remainder of her contract? How do we then "take the number with us"?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade ago100mb and 1000mb on the same network?
We have a 10/100/1000 unmanaged switch. Some of our client computers have gigabit network cards the rest only have 100mb cards. All the network cables are CAT6. Can you mix the two connection speeds on the same network? All the client computers are connected to the same switch and the domain controller has a gigabit network card.
3 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoDo I have to fly both legs of a flight?
Houston, Texas to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Continental is about $1025.00 round trip for two people. Austin, Texas to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Continental is $600.00 round trip for two people on the same date. The Austin to Cabo flight stops in Houston and then changes planes to the exact same flights as the Houston to Cabo trip. So can I purchase the Austin to Cabo trip and just use the Houston to Cabo leg? Do I really have to drive to Austin to save almost $400? This cant be right is it?

1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoMounting audio/video equipment in a closet?
I need some way to get my remote signals into the closet. I will be mounting a HDTV on a wall in one room and all the A/V equipment in a closet behind the wall. I only have a DishNetwork receiver and a DVD player now but plan to add a surround sound system in the future. How do I operate these devices?
3 AnswersHome Theater1 decade agoCan you refinish prefinished wood floors?
I have Bruce flooring that has received some minor water damage. The finish has come off, but the wood looks fine. Can we just sand it down with a hand sander and reapply a clear finish? This would just be a quick temporary fix since we are looking at replacing the flooring in the whole room in a few years.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow difficult is the top of Breckenridge's Peak 8?
I have skied almost all of the resort, but I have not tried the bowls on Peak 8 or ridden the Imperial Express. How does this area compare to Peak 10? If I have fun on the blue-blacks and blacks on Peak 10, will I have fun in the bowls or coming down from the top of Imperial?

2 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoWho else thinks the production Chevrolet Volt is Ugly?
I am not talking about the concept Volt, but the production version. I was so looking forward to buying the Volt if it looked like the concept. The high waist line and low roof line made the concept car look HOT. Now it looks just like a typical import. No style!
6 AnswersChevrolet1 decade agoIs it a mid life crisis if we are both doing it?
My wife and I are in our 40's and both kids are in college. We have begun being more active and doing new things. We started skiing/snowboarding again, we are looking at buying little sports cars, traveling, and getting in better physical shape. Our kids said that I was having a mid life crisis, but I said that it cannot be a crisis if my wife and I are both happy and just having fun. I said it is only a crisis if the husband or wife is making all the changes and the other spouse does not or is not happy with the changes. We are not trying to recapture our youth, we are just having fun again.
14 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhy are there no ski areas out Hwy 285 in Colorado?
75% of the Colorado ski resorts seem to be located near I-70. Is the snow not very good along Hwy 285? Is this an arid area of the rockies and all the snow dumped on the other side?
PS I am not from Colorado.
4 AnswersDenver1 decade agoHow do you say "Please put your toilet paper in the toilet" in Spanish?
I know that in some places it is not uncommon for people to put their used toilet paper into the trash because of poor plumbing systems. However, we have a problem here in our shop where some of our employees are throwing it on the floor! I have used Google's translate program and came up with this:
Por favor, que utiliza papel higiénico en el inodoro. No ponerlo en la basura. No lo pongas en el suelo. Gracias!
Is this a good translation? Most of our employees are Tex-Mex so true castillion (sp?) spanish is not required.
