Why do so many Americans still worship clowns?

I really like the clowns at the Cirque du Soleil shows here in Las Vegas. (Especially the ones at O, who are downright hilarious.) But the TV and radio pundit clowns are not nearly as funny. Rush is a hypocrite, and Bill O'Riley is a bully and a liar. Theses guys are selling a product, and that product is themselves. What they don't realize is just how much damage they do with all that white noise they produce.

The real message of individual liberty is lost in that noise. Even the Tea Party is filled with their fans- fans who can't explain why they're upset enough to protest, what they'd prefer from their government, or even what is so important about freedom in the first place. The pundits create an atmosphere of misinformation among the enemies of collectivism and tyranny. They are as damaging to the liberty's rational basis as the Colbert Report is to its solemnity. But at least Colbert knows he's a clown.

If you want a better picture of the world, skip their shows and listen to Ron Paul.
