Are teenagers becoming more atheist nowadays?

Does this mean that America will become much more secular in a few years? Thus more open-minded? Not to say there aren't open minded religious folk.

I certainly hope so. It is a trend I have seen and am very pleased about. My little guy is 16 and is an atheist, as are his older siblings, so we have put in our share!

One cannot become "more Atheistic"; either, you are an Atheist or you are not. The classrooms in many Universities and Seminaries are quite full now, a days. The teens today, are sensing something is very wrong with the world they live in. They see their parents with all the worries, concerns and cares of life and are beginning to question it in the light of the state of the world is in. They are not stupid nor unaware but they do sense something is missing in their lives and are beginning to do something about it. The drugs, booze etc, somehow, is not cutting it and they want something more which satisfies from the inside out - something spiritual in nature.

As a teenager, I can say with certainty "Yes".

Being Religious is sort of becoming something that kids are embarrassed about, try to hide and (From whom I've spoken with) only pretend to believe in to please their parents.

With the computer age, people are in contact with one another to much to be affected by the fear mongering and brainwashing that religion attempts.

With the way humanity is advancing, religion doesn't really have a place in a new, more informed world.

It is the fervent wish of every true-blooded secularist American that the dumbing down of America by conservative creationist Christian Bible Belt fundamentalists will reverse course soon, before America the beautiful becomes an ugly Christian theocracy.

If any statistics are available showing a trend among the young to seriously question their Christian indoctrination and conclude that they've been had all these years, then good-o. They would be in the vanguard that relegates American Christianity into the trash bin of mythology where it definitely belongs.

Atheism is on the rise in America and not just the young. The US is slowly following suite with many of the EU countries. Religion will continue to lose followers, probably at a gradually increasing rate until only a minority are religious. In 100 years, i would guess less than one third of population will be religious maybe sooner than that.

Actually, people who study these things say that teenagers are becoming increasingly more interested in spiritual things, not atheism. That does not imply they are gravitating toward any one religion. There is interest in Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, witchcraft & magic - almost anything of a supernatural nature.

    Yes.

The Illuminati realized they had to deceive an entire population of people if they had any hope whatsoever of achieving their coveted New World Order. They realized that the public schools were graduating students who read too well, too widely, and communicated too well. These students generally distrusted Big Government and governmental authority. Clearly, the Illuminati had to gain control of the Public School system from the foundation upward if they had any hope of instituting a One World Government that would serve the New Age Masonic Christ.

As early as 1911, the Illuminati began buying textbook writing companies, until they owned them all after World War I. Once they got control of textbooks, they gradually began to "dumb down" the curricula and rewrite history. Today, students of public schools since World War II have received increasingly inferior educations, until now the population is largely academically inferior, is political herds of "sheeple", and religiously ignorant of the Truth of Jesus Christ.

Most teenagers are into Atheism, Buddhism and Wicca etc ... non Abrahamic religions. Many even like Hinduism believe it or not. The PEW forum said most Americans are Hindu or Buddhist in their beliefs.

Yep. People are getting smarter. = People are realizing religion is a backwards practice that was created to keep people in line. Hopefully one day, with enough education, we will rid the world of this disease.
