Associates Degree in Music?

I will be receiving my Associates Degree in Music in May. Does anyone know what I can do with this? I am planning on being a Middle School Band Director, but I know I can't do that until I get my Bachelor's. I also need to get my teaching degree first.

Is there a way I could teach Elementary School or something? I can get my Teaching Degree pretty easily so I may go ahead and do that and then see where that gets me.

I would just love to start teaching Music if I could... or just teach anything in general.

I'm hoping my Associates Degree in Music isn't going to be worthless.

Thanks in advance!

Update:

I'm not stopping... I'm getting my bachelor's so I can be a Middle School band director. I was just wondering what I could do now with my Associates Degree while I go to school and get my Bachelor's.

Update 2:

Paul -- I didn't go to a University first, because I'm on the drumline at my junior college (which is a GREAT drumline.. a lot better than most Universities). I also got full scholarship.. and the teachers that teach Theory, Ear Training, etc. are a lot better at the Junior College than at the University I'm going to go to. I'm glad I got my associates first at the JC. I have all A's which is going to be great transferring, especially with the teachers that I had. It's impressive since they're such great teachers. All of my classes transfer so when I go to a University in August, I just have to concentrate on a few more music classes and then I'm done!

I did find out though that I can substitute after I get my teaching degree (which takes 8 weeks). I guess it's different in Texas. My husband works at an Elementary school.

I guess I'm confused as to why you didn't go directly into a Bachelor program. It's the minimum degree required for teaching K-12. With just an Associate's, you're not even qualified to work as a substitute teacher. And no, earning your Ed. degree in music is not easy; there is a lot more work required than most people realize. That, and the job market for music teachers is absolutely horrible right now.
