no audio device on my computer?

I have been having problems with my computers audio. it use to be working fine but then I shut off my computer for the night, but when I started it up in the morning, all of a sudden it's telling me I have no audio device. I have reinstalled the motherboards driver package over and over, but it still won't work. when I go into the device manager it says the drivers and codecs are runnig fine.

what can I do?

Update:

It is an integrated sound card, and I have reset the computer after installing the drivers.

I know this is a silly question but I will ask it all the same. did you restart after every driver install?

I've come across people who bring in their computers for various issues (No audio drivers being one of them) and it went away after I restarted the computer twice.

Also if you can spare the extra 20 dollars and you are not running an Overclock system where heat is an issue... I suggest not turning your computer off at all... You'll find mixed emotions about that but if you research it you'll see that your CPU cooling off and heating up isn't good for it. and "Chip creep" can occur as well as problems like the one you're suffering from.

If you can't find a right audio driver manually, you can try this link:

    http://www.best-driver-updater.com/drivers/sound-c...

There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it.

You can also search by the following link:

And you can also keep asking on:

    or

    Hope this helps.
