Why is my 2 year old daughter taking her clothes off?
When I put my daughter down for bed I change her diaper and also change her into her pajamas. She has started taking them off whenever I disappear from the room. She also does it when I lay her down for a nap. Sometimes I go back in and either catches her, her shirt is so tangled she is stuck, or all her clothes are off except the diaper. It isn't hot in her room so she isn't taking them off to cool down. Why is she doing it and how can I prevent it?
She never did it before and it's practically the same clothes. She just now started doing it like a week ago.
When will it stop if it's a stage?
It's not with any specific clothing it's with everything she wears to bed.

Ok, the best thing I can recommend you do is find some different PJ's for her. This sounds to me like she's feeling a little restricted or uncomfortable, maybe something is a tiny bit tight, or could be itchy, irritating her or something along that line.
EDITED:
Ok, so if it's with everything rather than specific stuff, I'd be inclined to agree with a couple of the other posters, she's asserting her wishes over you.
Essentially what she's saying is 'Just because you dress me in it, mommy, doesn't mean I have to keep it on!'
What you need to do is try and dress her in stuff which it is difficult for her to remove, like all in ones with a toilet flap at the back, or something along that line. Avoid anything she can pull up or down, since it'll be a breeze for her to remove :)

A lot of 2 year olds go through a stage where they randomly take their clothes off. It's strange, but pretty normal.
Edit: Yes, just like any stage it will end. Each time it happens, tell her about it and remind her to keep her clothes on. Try allowing to dress/undress herself when it's time and of course if she does it in public remind her to keep her clothes on in public.

Perhaps she still has a lot of energy left when you put her to bed, something she does when she's bored. Try reading her a story...Or give her a bottle of warm milk before she goes to bed. These can make her more tired, so she will go to sleep instead of undressing herself.
Possibly her clothes are itchy/tight, so I suggest trying out some new PJ'S. Check to see If the tag on the back is irritating her skin.
Good luck!

This is totally normal! she is asserting her independence. Help her learn how to put on her clothes in the morning. as much as you don't want to hear this, let her work on it. as for her pajamas, if they are zipup, you may want to put a pin through the zipper so she can't get it off. good luck.

I would say that either the clothes are uncomfortable or that she has to much energy so she does something like this to pass the time.

Perhaps she is more comfortable with her clothes off at bed/nap time. There is nothing to be alarmed about.

because she can -you were excited when she started walking, so revel in this new skill. clothes for dress up are great when kids go thru this stage.

she's probably uncomfortable in them...Why don't you try her in a different brand/style of pajamas, to see?
