How can I find a job at age 14?

I really need a job but not many people hire people of my age. I am especially underestimated by my size.

maybe at a food store, or department store, or maybe u can mow some lawns.

  • I'm 14 too. I've been looking for a job since the day I turned 14 (March 24). I had called 30-50 stores/fast food/resturaunts, etc. I called Dairy Queen and they said no. I realized it was a franchise though, so I called a couple different ones. One of them said they would hire at 14. My suggestion is contact all the different locations of franchises around you. I think Subway is a franchise, but I'm not 100% sure.

Check your states child labor laws. Make sure it's legal to be hired at 14, first. If it is, then ask your school for a workers permit. If they don't give you one, then I believe the city's community center or something will. Good luck(:

For the most part you cant because of the higher workman's comp. that the company would have to pay. Your best bet is to use your resources. She if any friend's family members could give you a job or friends of friends. It's tedious and no guarantee but if ur that desperate for a job then it may help. Also, look at places that arn't chain stores. Small businesses seem to be more likely to be convinced to hire you. If all else fails just try and work a lot of one time jobs.
