Yes I do, hours are fine, we do have to work weekends, evenings/nights and holidays sometimes, but I don't mind. The pay is good, especially for a 2 year degree. And yes I like working with patients and what I can do for them. Ultrasound is never boring.

The job outlook is not great right now though, at least here in the midwest.

    Source(s): I'm an ultrasound tech.

I'm not a sonographer, but if I were you I would try to look into the recently updated job outlook, if that information is available. Under this new health care bill, a lot of specialists are going to be laid off. My uncle is a radiation oncologist and is likely to lose his job in 5-7 years because of this. Hopefully not too many sonographers will be losing their jobs, since people will always be in need of that service, but it is certainly something to check into.

If you are in the UK then the pay is good and the hours are reasonable but you do have to do a degree in Radiography (3years) and then further ultrasound training (up t 3 years) and the training places can be difficult to come across. hope this helps :)
