What happens to animals when they die and where do they go?

Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

There is no reason to think that the "scriptures" are a trustworthy source of information about anything other than locations and a limited region of geography.

All animals, including humans. cease to "exist" when they die, nothing more, nothing less. Of course there are various life forms that are not really alive, but they too cease to exist when they are damaged greatly.

Revelations 5:13-14.

Animals were created by God. They act according to the laws He created for them, that is to say they don't sin, therefore they are eligible to live with God forever after they die.

Animals do not have souls therefore nothing happens to them when they die. They can't go anywhere because there's nothing to go someplace. That bit about Genesis is how God instructed Noah to keep the animals alive, it in no way suggest that animals go to Heaven.
