If a Nirvana fan....?

If a Nirvana fan knows like 20 songs by Nirvana but has never even heard of Smells Like Teen Spirit, is that good or bad?

I would say its strange, unique even.

  • I think It's a bad thing, Smells Like Teen Spirit is one of Nirvana's most known song, even my friends that don't know who Nirvana are they know about that song.

  • This question is making my brain hurt...I can't even imagine a hypothetical situation where this could happen unless this Nirvana fan was 5 years old and was given every single song of theirs except SLTS and because of his age, wasn't able to use Google or talk to his friends about it (because common, 5 year olds don't discuss music other than the theme songs to their fav cartoons LOL)

This is actually a real thinking question...I think it couldn't be a good thing because how is not hearing a Nirvana song a good thing, but it's not that bad either because it WASN'T their best song, just their most popular. argh, way to stop me from doing hmwk for tonight :P

I'm going to say it's not necessarily a good thing, but definately NOT a bad thing because they've got better songs.

Thats really bad. Smells like teen spirit was the song that they're most known for. If they have never heard smells like teen spirit then they aren't a nirvana fan at all.

Is it possible that they just don't recognize the title? Maybe they thought the title was Here We Are Now. I'm searching and reaching for an answer here, because the answer is not obvious at all. It doesn't make much sense. It's sort of like a Zeppelin fan who's never heard Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused or Stairway to Heaven. Makes you go Huh??? How can that Be?

That is amazing, I am honestly jealous, I only wish I had heard there great stuff before I heard Teen Spirit. That's good. Honestly most people nowadays only know like SLTS, Come as you are and lithium at most. I'd just be grateful, SLTS is too over played and is in actuallity not that good of a song, through 90% of the song no one knows what hes sayin.

It depends on what access they've had to Nirvana... it it's limited to a couple of CD's which don't have the track on they'd have no reason to know about it.. and considering the number of bands who have covered it even if they did know they song they wouldn't necessarily know it was by Nirvana!

I guess it's neither good nor bad. It's a little odd. I don't see how that could possibly happen, but whatever. It's not a bad thing, just unlikely. I'd recommend they listen to SLTS though. Although it's overplayed it's still good...
