Windows 7 drivers for my HP printer?
I have just got a new laptop with window 7 64 bit and my HP photosmart C4580 wont work because it doesnt support the operation system. I went onto HPs website and it gave me an adress to get windows 7 drivers for it from. They Cost £10.00. I have already paid for the printer and just paid for a new laptop and now i have to pay anoother £10.. Its stupid (i know its not a lot but i dont want to pay it) is there anywhere i can get the drivers for free or get it to work. I have the CD that came with it which says windows XP and vista. I think its stupid not letting it run on a later version of windows. Any help please?
Thanks

You can download them here for free... I think the link you found was to have them send you a CD.

Sorry, mate, but you don't give any information regarding your actual HP Printer model number, therefore I can't check for you to see whether Windows 7 drivers are available. You can, however, click on the following link and enter the details of your printer into the box (ensure that the Download drivers and software (and firmware) space is ticked) and then click on Go >>.

You shouldn't have to pay for drivers, they should always be free.
The HP website has some drivers
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&d...
Also a lot of Windows Vista drivers work with Windows 7

Install your vista cd then plug in your printer . it is likely that you are being charged for a full and new installation when all you really need is an update .
Vista drivers once they are in your com should automatically update for windows 7 .
Hope this helps .

don't pay anything, do this: insert your hp cd, go to my computer and search for the cd rom drive where your cd is, right click the drive and explore the cd. find the setup.exe, right click the setup.exe and click properties, click the compatibility tab, choose run this program for in compatibility mode for: windows xp service pack 3.
and double click the setup to install, it should work
note: if setup.exe doesn't respond try the hzsetup.exe something like that I forgot the file name

If you can't find the right printer driver on HP site easily, you can try this site:
It automatically updates your drivers, saves me a lot of time and frustration.
You can also search by the following link:
http://www.best-driver-updater.com/drivers/printer...
And you can also keep asking on:

or

Hope this helps.

Hp does not charge for drivers, so I have no idea where you are trying to get them from.

I just googled this. Does it work for you?
