Don't you think this mother from Tennessee should go to jail for sending her adoptive son back to Russia?

I just saw a news report about it..and I wondered what others were thinking so I check YA....

I don't get it...It would seem that it would be illegal to just put any child on a plane and pin a note to his chest. You know child abandonment, Child neglect, Child abuse...or any combination.

Shelbyville is a richer area in Tennessee. I bet the family has money and influence. They think that they are above the law...and unfortunately it is making the rest of the country look bad.

I think it is all about money, power and privilege and it totally sucks.

I found a news link for TN local news about the story....what's up with that sheriff...He said it was "difficult to do something" because the boy was in Russia...I want to scream "You are the freakin' Police you can a bring her in for questioning..." He acted like they couldn't talk with the family...

I am so disappointed with TN...I used to live there...man, do they really sound red-neck right about now...

An adopted child has the same rights as a natural child. She wouldn't think of putting her natural child on a plane to Russia, would she? She should have gone to child services or something similar if she felt threatened by the child. What she did was a crime, and that should be dealt with. On the other hand, I'm surprised the child was allowed alone on a plane to Russia with a one-way ticket. I think the airlines should also be questioned about that.

While I think it was wrong for her to send him back she did not break any local, state or federal laws because he was supervised and in care of an adult the entire trip.

This woman says she was given a child who had many mental problems and she had attempted to have the adoption agency take care of the problem but they would not help her.

Sometimes these children have been through terrible times and they need serious mental health intervention. Her big mistake was not getting him into any kind of program where he could adjust to living with new people and in a new country.

google russian adoptions and you will see that about 83% have gone bad so why is this lady being punished for what hundreds have done befor her. It is russia that has a problem not the nice woman that tried to help the boy out but she should have done her homework first and read up about russians! Yes I have a heart but my kids have a russian step brother and after hearing this and doing my homework I have found out that that I can put a restraining order against their step brother and he is 8. The lady messed up but her intentions were good! and she will regret it for the rest of her life!

This may look strange to people who don't know, but I have known a young second wife of a old rich guy who had passionate relationship with her step son who is of her age. While it is easy to dismiss the relationship as immoral, the old guy who marries a young lady should realize possible situation. Many rich guys marry beautiful young ladies only to show off, without realizing their physical, mental needs.

so u mean she adoptied him, and know she doesnt want him so shes giving him back. shes messing up that kid. hes going 2 feel unwanted. and maybe turn suicidal. she should go 2 jail

yes! that was just really morally wrong. just think what kids go through w/o all of that kind of drama imagine what this kid is going through

ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Send her to jail and she needs her other children removed by family services...
