Graphics disk for Vista?
I have a Dell Inspiron 530s with Vista. I'd recently had problems and had to reinstall Vista which meant I had to reinstall everything else. When I tried to install a game, it said I didn't have graphics support so I tried to reinstall my ATI Radeon disk. That disk wouldn't install because it was only compatible with Windows 2000 and XP. This is the disk that came with my computer but that's neither here nor there. My question is, what is a good graphics disk to play my games (Zoo Tycoon 2, Sims 2, etc)? And if its a graphics CARD, can someone tell me a little about them, as far as how they hook up to the PC. Thanks!

I'd say if the computer is telling you the graphics don't support the games you are playing it would be the card. The are put inside the computer physically (where the mother board is and all that stuff). I suggest NVidia. Check the System requirements on your games to find exactly what graphics cards they need. go to the desktop right click it click properties and then go to the settings tab to find out what graphics card you have

Go to your Control Panel and look for and open Device Manager.
In Device Manager look for Display Adapters Click the plus in front of it, that should be your graphics card. Right click on the graphics card and select Properties. Under Driver tab you can select Update Driver. A window will open and you can select to have windows search online for the updated driver and software that is right for your computer.

Just go to the Dell support site and download the Vista graphics driver for your model. If you want to upgrade your graphics to a better card you can do that as well.

A new video card would need to be one with a PCIe x16 (Graphics) slot.
