I am trying to think of a series of books that feature an old lady. These books are funny and my co-worker says the character is Southern and is a Methodist. Google has never failed me until now so naturally the next place I turn to is Yahoo! Answers! I hope that was enough information to go on!

I have a Dell Inspiron desktop (not sure if you need the model to answer this) with Windows Vista. When I got the computer, I was able to download many games such as Sims 2 (the entire series), Roller Coaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon...Basically, a whole lot of games without it affecting my computer speed or performance. One day my computer crashed and the only way to fix it was to reinstall Vista, which I did. When trying to re-install my games, I got an error message saying the computer couldn't support them. So I found the ATI Radeon disk that came with my computer (supposedly the disk that was used to install it initially). When I inserted that disk, another error message came up saying that it was not compatible with Windows Vista. Anybody know of this kind of thing happening? If I install Windows 7 alone, does it have a built-in graphics system? Should I buy a graphics card? Any suggestions?

A warning light lit up today in my car's dash and I have no idea what it means! It's a symbol of a little car with what looks like brake lights shining. It's right beside the battery light, if that matters. And in case it makes a difference, I drive a 2002 Lexus IS300. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've been searching the internet and can't find reference to that light and my owner's manual is 20 miles away :(

I have a Dell Inspiron 530s with Vista. I'd recently had problems and had to reinstall Vista which meant I had to reinstall everything else. When I tried to install a game, it said I didn't have graphics support so I tried to reinstall my ATI Radeon disk. That disk wouldn't install because it was only compatible with Windows 2000 and XP. This is the disk that came with my computer but that's neither here nor there. My question is, what is a good graphics disk to play my games (Zoo Tycoon 2, Sims 2, etc)? And if its a graphics CARD, can someone tell me a little about them, as far as how they hook up to the PC. Thanks!

Every time I try to log onto my Dell Inspiron 530s (Windows Vista), it tells me that the log on failed, could not log on user profile. I've researched this here on Answers and on Google and though the problem seems fairly common, I'm not seeing a solution that I understand. It's a personal computer and I'm the only user, therefore the only profile. The only buttons available to me on the log on screen are the shut-down in the lower right and the ease of access button on the lower left. So I can't log on as anything else or access anything else, that I know of. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work either. So how do I fix this? Please be specific.

Our family reunion is coming up (very informal affair...similar to a cook-out) and though I'm not required to bring a dish, I would like to.

Can anyone suggest some dishes (include recipes, please)? Some things others usually bring are ham biscuits, chicken salad, various salads: potato, macaroni, etc. I'm trying to avoid a dessert dish since all the little old ladies bring pies, etc. Possibly something a little unique but delicious, simple to make and with easy to find, inexpensive ingredients. I'm taking an EMT-E class and we got on a discussion of the difference between being unconscious and unresponsive. Our teacher asked what the difference was and no one could answer, nor find it in our textbook. I guess it's one of those things that you never realize that you don't know until specifically asked...lol. So anyone out there that can give me a good answer...one that makes sense:) THANKS!

Ok, probably a stupid question but my bf and I were in Applebee's the other night and he suddenly turns to me and said, "That girl must go down." Naturally, I was shocked and then I was like, "Why on EARTH would you assume that?" and he said because she had an anchor tattoo on the back of her neck. I asked if that's what that meant and he said he had no idea, he was being funny but what else could it mean? She definitely wasn't old enough to be in the Navy (she had to get another waitress when we ordered alcohol) or Coast Guard so aside from that, does it usually signify anything? Just curious!

Now, I understand that sometimes the author has to use plot contrivances to get certain events to happen, etc. But sometimes, those parts of the books just drive me crazy. Here are two that drove me mad in the series:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:

When Harry is returning from the prefect's bathroom (after opening the egg under water) and decides to investigate Snape's office b/c he sees "Barty Crouch," he gets stuck in the staircase and drops his egg and his map. Now, in the book, these events lead to a meeting between Filch, Snape and Moody, where Snape suspects Harry and Moody gets hold of the map. Fine, I understand that that need to happen BUT it drove me absolutely crazy thinking, "USE THE SUMMONSING CHARM YOU SPENT A WEEK MASTERING FOR THE 1ST TASK!"

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:

What really bothers me is the trouble that Harry (and his friends) go through for Harry to sneak in Umbridge's office to use the fire to contact Sirius, when Sirius GAVE HARRY A TWO-WAY MIRROR FOR EXACTLY THAT PURPOSE! And it's not like he forgets about it, he thinks of it much later after everything has taken place. Again, I understand why J.K. Rowling did this, but it still just gets under my skin.

Now, is there anything like this in any of the 7 books that drives you crazy?

Ok, so I just reread HP and the Chamber of Secrets. I'm a bit confused and yes, I've read the entire series but either I missed something or I'm just reading too much into it. Ok. So in Chamber of Secrets, Tom Riddle says that he decided to preserve his 17yr old self in a diary for future students to find, etc. Whatever. The preserving his self is the party I'm focused on. Anyway, it's later said that the diary is a horcrux. So...who did he kill in order to make that horcrux. Or more specifically, I didn't think he was killing that young or is it ever mentioned? I mean, he didn't even ask HOW to do it until his final year, right? If anyone can shed some light, it'd help. Thanks!

Several vampires brought with them to the undead a certain "talent" (either a true special power or just something like compassion). Examples:

Jasper = Human - Charismatic; Vampire - Able to control emotions

Edward = Human - Perceptive; Vampire - Able to read minds

Bella = Human - Protective/Caring of loved ones; Vampire - Sheild

Based on your own personality, what is the strongest characteristic that you think you'd bring forward if you were turned into a vampire. How would that translate to a special power or do you think it would just be a little something extra, like Esme's love or Carlisle's compassion?

Here's the scenario...AT WORK: I have internet but cannot download games to this computer since it's a "work" computer. AT HOME: I have a nice new computer but I don't have internet. Is it possible to download a game straight to a USB flash drive (at work) and then download it from there to my computer (at home) to play? Would that work. To be even more specific, I'm talking about Farm Frenzy 2. My flash drive is 4GB.

Fanning Set For Twilight 2?

Dakota Fanning has been offered the role of a bloodsucker in the Twilight sequel, according to Internet reports.

The teenage actress is in talks to play an Italian vampire opposite Kristen Stewart and brooding Brit Rob Pattinson in New Moon.

If she accepts the role, the I Am Sam star will play Volturi vamp Jane, according to Eonline.com blogger Marc Malkin.

A source says, "There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they're in negotiations."

The casting news will delight Twilight fans - one devotee of Stephenie Meyers' books recently started an online petition calling for the powers that be to sign up Fanning as Jane because she would be "perfect" for the role.

Filming on New Moon is scheduled to begin in Italy this spring.

I'm not looking for this on the computer somewhere, I'm wondering if it was ever put to DVD or even VHS. I remember we had it taped when I was little and I assume we recorded it from HBO. It was the anime version, originally titled "Ai no wakakusa monogatari" but aired in English on HBO in the 80s. If anyone knows where I could get my hands on a copy, in English, I would appreciate it. This was not subtitled, it was dubbed. Thanks!

Here's my situation. I'm now eligible for a New-Every-Two upgrade worth $100. So I click "upgrade" and it takes me to a page where the bottom few phones say that I will need to change my calling plan in order to upgrade to those phones (Upgrading FROM LG VX8600 w/ America's Choice 450 to hopefully an LG Dare). So in order for me to get a Dare, I must change my plan to the new Nationwide calling plan (450 minutes) which basically comes out to the EXACT same plan as I had before. Anyway, while I was in the process of switching my plan, I noticed it said that some promotions from my old plan will not carry over. Does this mean that I lose my $100 credit? And also, if I switch plans and do a 2 year contract and then upgrade my phone, will it let me do that or will there be a glitch from doing 2 "2 years contracts) one after the other or will the second one over ride the first? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The other day I was playing the Sims 2 and I went to hit the 1, 2 or 3 key to speed/slow the game and I accidentally pressed a bunch of keys. Well, this changed my screen so that I had nothing at the bottom...no faces, no information buttons, nothing. I couldn't save the game or change between characters or anything using my mouse. I couldn't see their stats or ANYTHING...just one big full screen of the Sims and the house. Can someone tell me how I did that and if it ever happens again, how can I correct it, short of "escaping" the game and not saving it.

Come to think of it, I think it's whatever a person presses to do screen shots for websites so that there's nothing on the screen and it looks like a movie still or something. Hope that explains it better.

Two part question, please answer both parts!

1) Do I have to establish myself as the pet's "Master" in order for "raising" them to count. If Sim A has the lifetime want but Sim B butts in and hogs the animals and turns into the "master," will raising and selling the dogs/cats count for Sim A?

2) If I adopt puppies, raise them and then sell them, does that count or do I have to have 2 dogs create litters until I've raised 20 of those puppies?
