Homosexual people tend to have more "pride" when it comes to there sexuality. It's always speculated on and some people make it seem as though they are entitled to know if someone around them is in fact gay. Also, being heterosexual is considered "the norm". The is no criticism for being straight.

The real issue is how one perceives things. A heterosexual couple walks through the mall holding hands and no one perceives them as broadcasting their sexuality. Now, a gay couple does the same thing and they are seen as broadcasting their sexuality when all they are doing is trying to have a normal day. Please, just try and ignore those who are actually working to get your attention. They don't deserve it.

i have always been stumped with this questions aswell! i think it is because they want to be recognised and accepted in the community and world alike. however at the same time, i am confused as to why 'gay people are not just living the same way as 'straight people do? for a while i suspected a family member was gay, however i don't think its anyones business to pry, i don't ask my friends about their sexual preferences or fantasies or want to know what goes on between their sheets and i would be offended if anyone was to ask about my bedtime stories.
i don't publicly exhibit that i love men, i suppose it is assumed because i am a woman.
so yeah, sexuality is private in any sense, so why is it that gay people exhibit theirs?! i am conflicted with whether its appropriate, as i am straight and don't want to know the details of such about anyone except my partner! regardless if the person is straight, gay, bisexual, trans...
however, i do understand and can appreciate that gay people do display their preference so one day, they can be couples in public without people taking a second glance and judging, they wanna be part of whats considered normal. AND what IS normal anyway... i think if you love someone, thats all thats all that should matter.

Because Gay;s are still in the struggle of fighting to be accepted. They want to be seen from everyone.

you mean celebrities do that? celebrities broadcast everything or the media does it for them. it's called publicity.

because gay people don't have the same rights as straight people. its the same reason why feminists nag the world to death for equal rights, and black people hate white people forever because of slavery. if any group of people feel that they have been wronged in any way, or deprived of any right, they make a HUGE fuss about it, forever.

Puzzles me also. Sometimes I think it's to say hey, we're in your face, we exist and we're not disappearing. Deal. Which is not altogether unreasonable as attitudes go.

I am NOT a homophobic, but I submit those folks are proud of who they are, and are willing to tell anyone. I don't understand it myself, but have learned to accept it.
