Why does the Bible say that King David and John the Baptist didn't go to Heaven?

Was there something wrong with them?

Matthew 11:11

Acts 2:34

John 3:13

Update:

If the least in Heaven is greater than John the Baptist then he cannot be there.

Update 2:

(John 3:13) Moreover, no man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man.

Jesus was the first born of the dead, (Revelation 1:5) meaning resurrected to heaven. Both King David and John the Baptist died before Jesus and are still awaiting the resurrection here on earth. They were both faithful men of whom God approved, nothing "wrong" with them in that way. But Jesus instituted his covenant for a Kingdom with his apostles the night before his death. They were the first of his "little flock" who would reign with him as kings and priests in heaven. Others came after that, but none before.

BTW, hell is nothing more than the grave, the place of the dead, what happens to us when we die. NOT a place of fiery, eternal torment. That is why Peter said at Acts 2:34: "Actually David did not ascend to the heavens, but he himself says, ‘Jehovah said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.”’ Even after Jesus had died and been resurrected, King David wasn't in heaven but in the grave.

The fact that the Bible teaches something most of those calling themselves Christians have never read is nothing new. That they would prefer to believe the lies they have always been told is nothing new either.

ADMITTING these things would be new. Desiring to find the truth of God's Word, the Bible, would be unique for those merely calling themselves Christians. They are supposed to be followers of Christ. It is just that they do not want to do anything he said.

Both King David and John the Baptist never went to heaven is clear from what the Bible states. It further shows that no one before the death of Jesus has gone to heaven nor hoped to do so. That it does not join with present day religion's teaching says much more about the falseness of the majority of today's Christians.

Jesus did not open the way for all the God-fearing ones of mankind to go to heaven. For the sake of humankind in general, he prayed for God’s kingdom to come to the earth where dead humankind lies buried and for the heavenly Life-giver’s will to be done on earth as well as in heaven. Will King David and John the Baptist want to do God’s will on earth under His kingdom? Certainly. Hence confused men need to re-examine the Bible to learn what the Creator’s will was for man at the beginning. Then they will see that God’s will and purpose have been made more sure because Christ came.

In the past I believe that all good persons go to heaven and I endeavored to live a good life, We may well have expected to be included among them. We may also have hoped in this way to be reunited with your loved ones whom you had lost in death. But when we had that expectation, did you know that the Bible says that such faithful servants of God as King David and John the Baptist did not go to heaven? did you know that only 144,000 chosen from among mankind over the past nineteen centuries would gain heavenly life? And did you know then that the Bible holds out hope of eternal life under righteous conditions here on earth for all others who would become faithful servants of God?

No. (John 3:13) in addition to, no guy has ascended into heaven yet he that descended from heaven, the Son of guy. (Matthew 11:11-15)extremely I say to you human beings, between those born of ladies human beings there has not been raised up a miles better than John the Baptist; yet a man or woman who's a lesser one interior the dominion of the heavens is larger than he's. yet from the days of John the Baptist earlier the dominion of the heavens is the objective in the direction of which adult men press, and those urgent forward are seizing it. For all, the Prophets and the regulation, prophesied till John; and in case you opt to settle for it, He himself is ‘Eli?jah who's destined to come again.’ enable him that has ears hear." earlier Jesus there replace into no theory of going to heaven, it is why the Pharisees and the Sadducee's rejected him. His teachings have been so diverse from the Mosaic regulation. bear in concepts Martha she knew her brother could be resurrected interior the final day. Jesus replace into the 1st fruit into heavenly resurrection. each and all of the Anointed died after him. yet another excuse his chum Lazarus replace into resurrected, to furnish him the prospect of being with Jesus interior the heavens. x x x

Both men were faithful, but both also died before Jesus.

Hence, they will both be resurrected to the Paradise Earth, which was the hope of faithful ones up to the time of Jesus. This is what Daniel was promised. (Daniel Chapter 12)

Those going to heaven are to reign as "kings and priests over the earth", including John the Baptist and King David. (*Revelation Chapter 5)

    Hi Kevin!

Discernment means knowledge to the humble of heart!

    Proverbs 2:9-11

9 Then you will understand what is right and just

    and fair—every good path.

10 For wisdom will enter your heart,

and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

    11 Discretion will protect you,

    and understanding will guard you.

I agree 100%.....Why would the meek(humble)inherit the earth if people went to heaven for being good?

Of what use is earth then?

With one Kingdom to unite all peoples and tongues in truth and purpose, the way of life is immeasurable!

Thanks for the eye opening question!

How did you get that from this?

Matt 11:11 "I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he"

or this says John 3:13 "13 No one has ever gone to heaven and returned."

    "and returned" only Jesus has

This is because they are in the grave waiting the resurrection. I think even today Jews don't believe in going to Heaven when they die.

    Not John but David:

    \

    Acts 2:27

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

    Ps 16:10

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Having an understanding of the plan of salvation and a thorough knowledge of the seriousness of the gross sins of adultery and murder which he had committed, King David in anguish cried out unto the Lord: “… thou wilt not leave my soul in hell.” (Ps. 16:10.)

David committed a very serious sin, and he expected to be punished, and he expected to go to hell: but, he said, "Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell," that is, that God, in His own due time, would not leave him there, but only until he had paid the penalty of his sin. If there was an opportunity for David to obtain forgiveness for committing as grievous a sin as he did, then certainly God, who "is no respecter of persons," will not act differently with us. There is no limit to the power of God, neither to His mercy when justice is satisfied, and the Lord is not willing that any shall perish. That is the substance of all that we have read; for to this end Christ died, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
