For Moms: What to put on Baby Registry?

I am going to register for baby stuff tomorrow and need to know what to get. I know about the basics but am wondering what is new and exciting that I might not know about. What didn't you have that needed? What would you recommend for a new mom?

    My can't live without list:

    Boppy

    Moby wrap (LIFESAVER!!!)

Beco Baby Carrier (BEST BEST BEST baby carrier!)

Inflatable duck bath tub (5-6 months and older)

    Prince Lionheart bathing bucket

Inflatable exercise ball (beats the rocking chair for gassy babies (you could register for this at Target)

    Lots of pants

    Lightweight cardigans

    Leg Warmers

    PJ's with zippers

TEMPORAL THERMOMETER (best you can find)

Snap-n-Go stroller Universal car seat carrier

Multiple changing pad covers (if you're anything like me you will abandon them anyway)

Nice bathing products (California Baby makes some awesome stuff and so does Burt's Bees)

    Lots of socks

If you and dad are tall, consider pj's without feet and just put socks on baby. Long babies tend to get fussy of their sleepers are too short

Aden and Anais muslin blankets last forever, are lightweight and great for swaddling-- they are pricey but really great

    Skip:

    Baby shoes

Outfits without expandable (lap neck) or snap necks

    Mittens (scratch mittens)

    Wipe warmers

I would say the more burp cloths the better you can't have too many of those! I wouldn't get a bunch of outfits though, they will grow too fast to even wear it once, so I would stick to a few onsies, and buy more as she/he grows they outgrow things so quickly! A tummy time mat is a must, it's great for developing babies motor skills. When it comes to a carseat/stroller I would get a travel system, so that when they outgrow the carseat you can still use the stroller and just purchase a convertible carseat that will grow with the baby, and when you're ready for a new stroller you can sell the old travel system together. A bottle drying rack is great!! we needed one but we just set a towel out and but the bottles on that to try. Crib sheets are great! I would stock up on at least 3 if not 4 due to changing/washing sheets a lot.

bouncer, boppy pillow, bottler sterilizer, microwave or electric, both are good.

Sheets, baby towels and wash clothes.

Bottles a few of each, the baby will decide if you bottle feed, good to have even if choosing to breastfeed just in case. Breast feeding covers, shirts & bras

cloth diapers for spit up rags, carrier or upright sling (they are awesome)

the pacifier clips, and pacifiers (clips hold it right on their clothing)

diaper changing pad, the rounded one, i wanted one, never got it and was fine, but they seemed to work well when i used them at other peoples houses.

Swaddlers, so you dont have to learn how to swaddler a blanket, this is just velcro to swaddle for you, they are great. Babies love to be swaddled, they feel secure that way.

wipe warmer for when it gets cold. Bottle warmer..
