How can atheists claim the Bible is not scientifically accurate?

How can atheists claim the Bible is not scientifically accurate when Mark 6:52 clearly extols the virtues of whole-grain breads in combating high cholesterol?

Mark 6:52 (King James Version): For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

Where does it mention whole grain bread combating high cholesterol?

We claim that it is not scientific because, it was written by men who didn't know science or the scientific process. In fact they would kill anyone who asked a question and tried to find an answer to it other than "god did it".

All they see is a harden heart and they considered it to be because of the bread, there was no scientific process here, there for it is not science.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. This is by far the most ridiculous yet hilarious question by far. What the hell does that verse have anything to do with high cholesterol? And how does that question even remotely relate to the accuracy of the bible. Think long and hard...high cholesterol, which by the way is not what the verse means, scientifically proves the bible is valid. so, to follow your logic, food makes a fictional book (i.e. the bible) credible? i must have missed something. oh well, too many christians with blind faith on here. they are entertaining though. you sir made my day. thank you for a good laugh! Much appreciated.

    Peace :)

EDIT: if you take the bible literally, you will sound like a dumbass, which you certainly do. It's a fictional book meant to be interpreted symbolically.

EDIT 2: "No one really knows on either side what the true and complete truth is, so I come to it with a non-sided view." -Classical Liberal Jochan

Let me get this straight. if you label yourself as an atheist, how can you possibly come into this issue with a non-sided view. You can't have it both ways, sorry.

Source(s): I know this will get me thumbs down, so bring on the hate. i think i can take random strangers giving me those.

Leviticus 14:49-53 the cleansing of a house involves murdering a bird and sprinkling it's blood about. Leviticus 11:6 the bible tells of the hare chewing cud! which they are physically incapable of if i am not mistaken.... Noah's ark. 2 individuals of every species.... Know what inbreeding is? Know what it does to a gene pool? ohh, and consider Adam and Eve They had 2 sons And from these 4 people, 3 men and 1 woman came all humans. ohh and god was good enough to kill Jehoram off slowly and painfully by causing his bowels to drop out, and took away all his sons but one but that is fine, he can do that, however Chronicles 21:20 "Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired..." Chronicles 22:1-2 "And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead...." "Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign...." So, king dies at 40, his youngest son is made kind in his place, at the age of 42..... So the son was older than the father... Science! the bible seems to have some hereditary errors

I think that scripture meant the people had not understood the meaning of the loaves because their hearts were hardened against God. Not cholesterol. lol

I never say it's not scientifically accurate. I will say that even then there were people who were observant to what was around them, and wrote that in.

I just don't think it can be scientifically relative to prove the existence of a higher being.

I feel the same about science itself being used to disprove it.

No one really knows on either side what the true and complete truth is, so I come to it with a non-sided view.

Aah. Gee, I feel so sheepish. I guess that verse proves the Bible is right-the bits about insects and birds. Apparently we need to redefine our descriptions and redo-the whole math structure since we apparently have been using the wrong measurements ;-)

Also worth noting is why, when Leviticus clearly says wearing mixed fibers is clearly an abomination, the pews are full of fatties wearing their polyester blend every Sunday?

    Loaves? I'm all about logs.

    Especially of the splashing variety.

Cos insects have 6 legs, bats aren't birds, the earth isn't flat, rabbits don't chew their cud, and pi isn't 3. Need more?

If the Bible is the true word of God, why doesn't it suggest the lower carbs breads that we have discovered through almighty science?
