Do laser printouts fade?

Most anything will fade over time, it just depends on how long a time you're talking about. Most can last a very long time, especially if kept out of direct sunlight. Laser prints can last for decades, as well as inkjet prints, but it does depend a lot on the quality and source of the toner and inks. Original manufacturer inks used with the correct manufacturer papers can last centuries as is the case with certain HP inks and papers that are said to be fade resistant for 200 years.

Laser prints much more stable and are not affected by water, but most standard inkjet prints will wash off or streak from water, but again there are special inks and papers when properly combined can be submerged in water and not be affected, but I imagine they would be a bit more money.

Personally, I'd go with the laser prints.

Laser printouts are actually made by fusing tiny plastic spheres (toner powder) onto the paper so they should be fairly fade resistant.

Hewlett Packard genuine inks provide good fade resistance for decades.
