What happens to a body when it's being cremated?

My husband was telling me that he wants to be cremated after death. I said okay. He said it's cheaper than being buried. He also told me something else, and he claimed that he asked several people, and one of his good friends confirmed it.

He said that when a body is being cremated, it is put into a box (not the coffin), it's put into the crematory and then you hear popping sounds, as if the body is trying to get out! I can't believe that. I'd like to know if this is true.

Update:

Okay, I get that a dead body is NOT trying to get out. I just wanted to know if the popping sounds were real. Thanx.

I had a friend who witnessed a cremation and he claimed that the body does move around in the crematorium chamber, possibly from escaping gases.

It freaked me out a bit to hear that, and as a result, I was against cremation for awhile.

Now I'm back to being for it. Who cares what happens to the empty shell, once the soul is free?

The body is put into a crematorium, the attendant turns up the heat very high, and the body is burnt to ash. The ash is then collected and given back to the family to place in a columbarium, an urn, or to be scattered as they please.

Bones pop very loudly when they are burnt.

for heavens sake...it IS put in a box, but the 'retort' (the furnace) is kept at such a high temp, you neither hear nor seen anything at all, except fire. When the body is burned up, they scrape up all the ashes (and break up the larger bits of bone) and put them in an urn or box...then the family usually gets the ashes.

and then you hear popping sounds

Fire's make popping noises all the time, it's just pockets of gas that are combusting.

Secondly, someone trying to get out of a coffin/box would NOT make a "pop" noise, they'd make a bang and/or be screaming ...

each and every now and then kinfolk shop area of the ashes in a particular field and others might have their ashes unfold in a fave place. i don't think of there's a nicely-known ceremony however the deceased probable left instructions on how he or she needed a ceremony performed.

If you put a very sensitive microphone on a marshmellow being roasted you'd hear the same thing. Are U OK with that..?

yes its put into a box

and the popping sounds are probably the skin bursting or the organs popping

how can a dead body try to get out?

The moisture is the first to cook out of the body, the fire is HOT and the body cooks quickly, so it pops and crackles.

Have you ever made fried pork chops? They make popping sounds as you brown them, so no one is coming out, is the proses.
