If you had a kitchen fire-would you accept the cabinets being painted?

I had a trash can fire, quickly put out, but smoke damage through the entire house. The insurance wants to paint my laminate white cabinets (1 cabinet, and the tops will have to be replaced).

I think the paint will end up peeling. Anyone had an experience here, and will it be the same? Would you accept this?

They need to be replaced..of course your settlement will depend on your coverage. If you have replacement coverage, they should be replaced, not painted and do not accept anything less.

Just say them that insurance was against the covering damages, what u lost due to fire must be compensated by the insurance company who had received the premium from you, there shouldn`t be any bargaining, coz its not a business but the one knows who is bearing all the losses.

So its your choice what u want up to the INSURANCE AMOUNT not by less payment.Do what suits you n ur home.
