Should you be worried about long term health damage, if you used to abuse laxatives?

You may well have damaged your kidneys, especially if your weight dropped drastically, which I suspect it did. Really, I wouldn't worry now, just don't take any chances with your kidneys. if your bowel movements seem normal and your diet is something in the ballpark of decent, I think you should be fine, so long as you stay off of using them, and stay a healthy weight.

I Don't want to assume, but I work with Eating Disorders, and if that was an issue for you in those years, then I would be more concerned with damage to your heart and circulatory system depending on how much your weight dropped.

But of course, I am only assuming and your doctor is a better source of information.

I'm sorry if any incorrect assumptions were hurtful, they are not meant to be.
