Wheels stolen of a truck!?

The wheels were stolen off my boyfriend's truck last night, and it's sitting in my driveway up on blocks. At least they were courteous enough to do that... It's also got a small U-haul trailer attached, but that's only part of the issue.

The insurance company won't do anything until tomorrow, but even when they do- how the heck are we supposed to get tires on it and get it driveable? Anyone ever had this happen or work for a wrecker/shop and know what we should expect?

Update:

Thanks for the answers. I just want to know what to expect. Will they bring wheels to the truck? Can they (or will they try) to tow the truck to a tire shop?

Of course I know alot of it depends on the insurance company and their crap- but we're so clueless. And of course my car is over an hour away...

Update 2:

Actually, the saddest part is they were stock wheels. The constable's office says they've been targeting later model Chevy Silverados in the general area. The wheels and tires are untraceable and unidentifiable like custom wheels would be. The thieves make quick cash and little risk of getting caught.

They are also targeting Toyota catalytic converters because of some metal in them.

The constable was at our house at 8:24 in the morning, and it was his second call of stolen wheels/tires of the day, and he expected more. And wheel locks are worse- they will break them off and have been damaging the vehicle in the process.

Update 3:

Just to let you all know what happened- the insurance company covered everything, minus his deductible. They did provide a rental car as well.

They paid him for replacing them with stock wheels and tires, but we took this opportunity for him to get custom rims (since those aren't being stolen) and new tires.

He's actually coming out well ahead and using the extra money to pay off a credit card...

You need to get some new (or used) tires, wheels and lug nuts and put them on. Then it becomes drivable again.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS >>>

No, they will not bring wheels. The will do an estimate, and issue a check for the "damages". Then you will have to get the wheels and tires and put them on, or hire someone to do it.

I will garantee the insurance company will do nothing. If these were custom wheels and tires. it will be out of your pocket to replace.Wheels and tires are not usually covered.little known fact. But go to your local junk yard and find the wheels, and lug nuts. take to your local tire place. there you go. This stuff you are going to have to do your self. if you ever want to use the truck again.A garage will do all this for you. But my god the cost will be through the roof.Plus the insurance company if at all only cover stock wheels and tires.I bet you a hundred bucks the insurance company will not cover a dime of this cost. Please post again. I am curious as to the out come.

If he has comprehensive insurance the insurance company will buy new wheels and tires and lug-nuts to fit the specific wheels. Do what ever you have to do to get the exact wheels and tires he wants. Order them on-line from tirerack.com or Discount Tire Direct and they'll come mounted inflated and computer balanced, ready to bolt-on. They'll be dropped at his door within 3 business days.

Next time have him consider buying a set of Mcgard lug-nut wheel locks.

If you really have to drive it, go to your local salvage yard and pick up some tires and rims with lugnuts. Of course borrow someones car or truck first. That would suck! I feel for ya. Good luck!
