I'm proud to be a Gay Independent who leans Republican. Do you believe I have chosen the correct party?

I am for amnesty for illegal immigrants

I am very much for gun control

I am for a balanced budget

I am for the least amount of government involved in my personal life

I am against healthcare reform the way it stands (needs to be open across state lines and tort reform)

I am pro-life

I do not believe in a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage (the constitution gives liberties it does not take them away)

I believe gay marriage is a state issue

I believe in a national flat sales tax and abolishing the IRS

I believe in abolishing the Departments of Education and Homeland Security (education is local and homeland security can be covered by defense and state)

I believe in term limits for Congress and the Senate

I believe in the American dream that all men are created equal

I do not believe in hate crime legislation

I am for stem cell research

I believe gays should be allowed to serve openly in the military

I believe in the campaign finance reform sponsored by Senators McCain and Feingold

I did not support the bailouts

Update:

it's sad that one needs to pick a party. I look forward to the day when there is a true independent party that is viable for the presidency.

Gun control is something many Demoncrats support.

Government keeping their nose out of the people's business is the main point of the Republican party.

    I disagree with points 1,2,12,2,16, and 2

BTW, you need more government control (which you don't want) to get gun control (which you do want)

"People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both." Benjamin Franklin.

    Stay an independent.

Liberals` tend to just follow the talking points of what their liberal socialist bias` media and politcians tell them ! That is all a liberal needs to be told ! Liberals` tend to believe that man has all the answers` ; so that`s where your "faith" should be , in man and his liberal leaders !. A liberal has the ability to see the other side of an issue , but their adopted personality of the liberal politically correct arrogant social elitist doesn`t allow them to be objective of their own failed agenda`s ! Conservatives` on the other hand tend to stand for the values that made this country great in the first place . God , family , truth , honor and the integrity of the principles that our founding fathers` laid out as our foundation ! Independents` ; tend to be objective thinkers` , and have the ability to admit when what they thought to be true wasn`t , and they adapt to the discovered truth ! Independents` don`t take a "politician" on their "say-so" alone like a mind numbed lemming to be the determining factor in how they with form their opinion of issues` ! An Independent compares` apples to apples , and has the ingenuity to separate them from the "Nuts" !

Meh, Independent with a definite rightward lean I'd actually say but the definitions of each party are really different for many. If your interested there's a independent conservative by the name of Tammy Bruce who you might share some things with. http://www.tammybruce.com/

I really don't know what to call myself because while I have a definite rightward lean I believe in gay rights(I'm Bi), I'm pro-life but believe as long as its legal its a personal decision, I don't like religion's place in politics, and I'm for healthcare reform but not in its current state. I'm sure there's a few other things I can't think of at the moment.

You are right on most everything except the gay issues. So if you sell out on everything else the Democrats will accept you on the gay issues.

Under the Republican health-care plan, you will be eligible to receive treatment from Rev. Ted Haggard to cure you of your gay lifestyle condition. Good luck!
