What do you think of the Vikings' draft this year?

NOTE: I am Vikings fan.

I think that they usually have amazing drafts! (Adrian Peterson/Percy Harvin- '07, '09) However, I thought this year was really bad. Cook is overrated, but Gerhart I thought was a good pick! I didn't think so at first, but with 0 fumbles in college, it will push AP and make sure the fumbling problem that happened against the saints doesn't happen again. I thought the rest was average but Joe Webb was a dumb pick. Should have went with Tony Pike.

Also, what do you think of Tim Tebow as a Viking? I know we didnt get an oppurtunity, but I thought he would fit in well. He would be mentored by Favre year 1, help the wildcat offence, and be reunitted with Percy Harvin which Tebow had when he was a good QB. What are your opinions? Just wanted to get mine out!

i am a vikings fan too.

i can honestly say that this draft was not their best. Joe Webb?! he's a lucky kid being under favres wing but, colt mccoy, how long was he availible? they should have picked him first though refering to the rose bowl insident..he gets injured real easily. pinched nerve? ouch. All im saying is that there were options and they missed them.

now, Tim tebow would be better as a wide reciever in my opinion. he has great ball control and should catch like nothin (: but....i wouldnt want him on the vikings. nothing personal but i just dont see it. hes better with the broncos. we have AMAZING recievers. and maybe as a back up quarterback but then he wouldnt be playing as much with favre around. (WOO! FAVRE (: )

    well thats my opinion (:

Being a Vikings fan as well I have to say I didn't care for their draft this year. What they needed to do was start working on their future with a QB. Favre isn't going to play many more years. They need to get someone in their now and get mentored so that when Favre does leave...it won't be back to the way it was the season before last.

I wouldn't wish Tebow upon any team. Im sorry. The kid has a big heart I guess, and he was a great team leader...but he isn't an NFL QB. It makes absolutely no sense that a team would change it's entire offense and the way it was built to accommodate one college player who hasn't proved anything to anyone in the NFL.

I didn't like the draft. After having such an awesome one last year I was disappointed. I wish they would have drafted a quarterback. I have to believe that Clausen will be better than anyone else on the Vikings roster if Favre doesn't play and if he does it wont be for more than another year. Instead of wasting their time with Tarvaris Jackson who is never going to work out wouldn't it be smarter to take a shot at Clausen or McCoy? Honestly what is the worst thing that is going to happen? They would be in the same predicament if they were both busts. They took Chris Cook and that is fine - they need a cornerback but honestly I liked Jerome Murphy more - he can stick in a wide recievers hip pocket better. They could have then taken Clausen at 34, Murphy at 62, and taken a chance on a running back with their third round pick they would have had at 93. I realize this equation doesn't probably have Gerhart in it (which would suck) but I liked Joe McKnight as a third down back replacement for Chester Taylor anyway. It will be fun to watch Gerhart and Peterson play smashmouth football and wear down defenses as it stands - I will admit, but it is my opinion that Clausen-Murphy-McKnight as 2nd and 3rd round picks would have had more potential then Cook-Gerhart-and a lost 3rd round pick. The Joe Webb pick is hard to tell. Maybe it was smart to take a risk on him maybe not. If not him who else would they have taken that late? There is not much doubt that he is athletically talented. They may have wasted a pick or struck gold with him. When they drafted him and I saw he was a quarterback I almost puked because I never heard of him but I dont think their intentions are to have him play the position. Tebow as a Viking? I thought it could happen. Didn't like it because he is a risk but like I said before, how much worse of a situation would they have been in. Sometimes you have to take a chance. Speaking of, what they have done since the draft in signing Ryan Perrilloux is almost like they drafted a quarterback. Maybe that was the plan all along. If he keeps his *** out of trouble (I cant be confident he will), he is a talented, talented (yes I said it twice on purpose) young quarterback. Great player but his biggest issue is between his ears. Well that is my opinion for what it is worth. SKOL Vikings.

Edit - I guess they didn't sign Perrilloux but he is still trying out for the team. Still could happen. Hate the baggage love the talent.

They seem to be about winning right now, they have filled a few gaps, but it will be this year they feel they must win, then they can rebuild if need be. They have the power, pride in every position, so it;s must win at all cost. I feel they have revenge on their minds so I feel sorry for all the teams they play this year. It will be down right brutal the pain they inflict. Brutal I say.

    Cant wait to see it.

Picking up Toby Gerhart was a great move. He will add depth and even more tuffness to an already beastly runing game.
