Thanks Janice
Purchased from private party and seemed to run fine and no light on when purchased. Smog report was just done on it. Husband can work on the truck, just looking up the codes to see what it might be.
Thank You Dodge man picked up the EGR valve today and husband is going to run codes again. I will let you know.

if you,ll post the correct codes up on it i can help you with it,there should be a p0,before the codes on that truck, the p0406 indicates that its got a clogged egr valve or one that isnt working right on it,good luck.

Janice--it doesn't matter what the codes are reading--you still need a correct computer diagnostics check--so go to a dealer and then have them make the proper repairs. It will cost you but you have NO choice here. This could have been prevented by having the vehicle checked by YOUR mechanic BEFORE you purchased it. Since you made this error--I would have to assume that you are not a mechanic, nor do you have the means to do a driveway repair. Tools etc--and a lift to do some of the work. No getting around it--YOU need a dealer or a good mechanic. IF it is an EGR system failure--there are probably associated failures that mean sensors and stuff that you NEVER heard of. Good luck
