Are there any legitimate online colleges?

I've been looking at Ashworth College & University of Phoenix for their programs of travel, bridal consulting and veterinary assistance. Are these colleges/programs actually accredited? Do you know anyone who's received a degree from there? Do you know of any other online colleges that are trustworthy?

Yes, both the universities you mentioned are accredited.

University of Phoenix is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.

Ashworth College is nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).

Any college which is accredited is trustworthy and good pursue education.

You do not need to go to college for "travel" and "bridal consulting". Bridal consulting is best learned in an informal apprenticeship. Travel agencies are just about dead as people make reservations on line. Large hotel chains, such as Marriott, offer their own training programs. Veterinary assistance must be learned hands-on to have a reasonable chance of getting a job,

For legitimate online colleges, start with your local community college and if its program does not meet your needs, ask them to refer you to one that does.

You are smart to avoid Ashworth, Phoenix, etc.

    Best wishes.

    Yes,

My daughter-in-law received her Master's from the University of Phoenix and Ashworth college was a preferred college of hers before she chose University of Phoenix. I attend Western International University, I think they have a terrific curriculum. Good Luck!

I've taken online courses through community colleges and state universities, but I know there are actual online universities like Phoenix, Kaplan, etc. Whatever school you choose, be sure to check their credentials, especially if there are licenses, etc., you will have to obtain to work in your state.

    Best of luck!! :)

Purdue is trustworthy and it has an online vet tech program. You will have to find someone in your area who will supervise you for the clinical portion.
